MY four year old dog is as energetic as a puppy. Whenever we bring him inside the house he does not relax, and does not stay still. He runs throughout the house, goes through the trash and does not behave. We have tried taking him on long walks and buying chew toys but he never gets tired. We want him to come in the house and be part of our family more often . Any suggestions? Thanks

Well, the obvious step with an unruly, undisciplined dog is obedience training. A dog who's put in a sit stay can't be too destructive. A dog needs more than long walks, they also need mental stimulation. You didn't say what breed you have, but some breeds need something to do - obedience, agility, flyball, tracking, herding - anything that makes them use their brains.

Try going to Animal Planet.com. They have a lot of good information on subjects like this one. They helped me train my Siberian Husky on a leash. And there suggestions worked.
