Seriously? "The devil is everywhere, his minions have decieved and tempted you." That's a silly argument if I've ever heard one.

you don't and you just ignore them for their ignorance.

You can confound this guy by saying, "If it's all unseen forces, how can you be convinced you're fighting for the right side? Maybe God is the devil, and the devil is God. How are YOU going to be able to tell? YOU can't see who's guiding you!"

"Suppose I have valid reasons for saying what I say? You can't just make up Satan stories to dismiss what I'm saying. Think about it! The words stand or fall by themselves. The truth is the truth whether I say it, Mother Theresa says it, or Satan says it. Satan can make me say anything, okay, fine! But you STILL have to consider the words on their merit and show me where I'm wrong. If you can't, it must be true and why dismiss truth? What's to be gained by living falsely?"

It's hard to say when you haven't told us anything at all about what prompted the exchange. For all I know from your question, you are ritually torturing small children and drinking their blood.

But, assuming that not to be the case, I'd stop well short of condemning that person as a religious nutcase. Maybe he/she is, but maybe also he/she has reason to be concerned for your immortal soul, and is sincerely trying to help you. So, even if you don't buy it, don't necessarily read ill motives or craziness into it.

But, that said, what you have here is not argument, it is simply taking a position and sticking with it despite what may be intelligent and cogent support for your position.

There is really nothing at all you can do to change someone's mind unless that person is willing to drop the reflexive posturing and apply some rational thought and honestly exchange with you.

If that person is unwilling or unable to do that, don't you have better things to do with your time?

The only thing I can think of is to stoop to his level and respond, "The devil made you say that." Maybe a few rounds of, "No, you!" "No, you!" will show how ridiculous the argument is and make this person actually think. Don't hold out too much hope though.

Well, Christians are just geniuses!!! aren't they?
I am surprised you haven't noticed their brilliance yet.
They all have pretty rational responses to our questions, like for example ,when I asked something about the zen philosophy, they told me that I was Satanic, God does not want for me to read that kind of evil stuff!!!. lol
Zen or buddhism satanic, lmao.

Christians follow no logic, and when they cannot find any other excuse, they have been instructed to use Satan , their scapegoat.
So how do you respond to that argument? LAUGH!

Revolve your head by 360 degrees, roll your eyes and spit flame.

Or say the Lord's Prayer, apparently demons and witches can't do it. Or accuse him of the same thing, and use the argument he uses to prove that you're not in the grasp of Satan either.

That's just religious trickery at it's best. When in doubt blame the devil. Satan is the all time greatest escape goat.

you can't argue with someone who thinks that the powers of the universe are decieving everyone but them. i suppose you could ask them how they know they're not being decieved as well but they just KNOW, ok!!

Ignore ignorance. If you try to fight it, it only grows stronger. If you ignore them, then you give them plenty of time to think about what they are doing. Of course, this doesn't change much, but you'll have more peace than they will in the end.

well we do have free will but we can't blame all our 'sins' on satan, ultimately we are responsible for our own behavior because we make our own choices. the person who is using that argument is just making an excuse for bad behavior, isn't always easier and more cowardly to blame someone else for the mistakes we make?
