According to the belief that anyone who once had salvation through christ cannot lose it, but someone who never believed that religion goes to hell.

Where is the justice in that.

Does that make any sense to you? Nope, me neither. Although it does make for a nice recruiting tool for them to use when they go into prisons and try to convert death row inmates.

Thats not true, you can lose your salvation! If I accepted Christ in my heart but then continued my sinful ways, would I be worthy to enter Heaven? Would I still have the same priveleges as those who maintained themselves pure for God? NO! God is perfect and although we arent, we have to live as close to perfect as possible. That means seeking God daily for His grace and mercy and thanking HIm for all the opportunities Hes given us. Now,as far as hitler and ghandi, none of us can really say where they went.Have these people gone to Heaven or hell to know for sure that theyre really there.NO!They are guided by the works they did on earth. Even with that I can say Im CHRISTIAN 100% but inside Im as bad as ever. Not everyone who claims to be on Gods side will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.God searches the heart, not your actions. On judgement day we Will all see HIs justice served.
God Bless U

A traditional Catholic view:

There is a minute chance that Hitler is in heaven, if he had no control over what he was saying or doing. We may never know. If he was culpable for his actions, then he would have had a hard time repenting. Keep in mind that the historical Christian view is that true repentance is not motivated by a fear of Hell, but by a love of God. I can't imagine that Hitler was capable of loving God at that point.

Ghandi is up for grabs. He lived a life which was in many ways in accordance with the teachings of Christ, but he also led many of his followers to their deaths by telling them to march unarmed against British troops. I'm sure he did this in good conscience, but I have my own doubts about how objectively moral this action was. He also explicitly rejected Christianity on the basis of never meeting anyone who lived up to it.

According to the Catholic view, the only way to receive the salvific grace of Christ without explicitly seeking it is through absolute invincible ignorance through *no* fault of one's own. While this is up to God to judge, I feel I would be insulting Ghandi's intellegence to say he was ignorant.

So I don't know about either one, and neither does anyone else.

Ghandi is definitely in hell... he's holding a seat for me so we can watch the UFC together.

Justice? What the hell does that have to do with anything?

*I hope you can read the sarcasm in this... seems some are lost to that art*

Well, Hitler was very sentimental and charming, loved children and all that, while Ghandi was known to be very short and dismissive toward his wife and children. The alternative explanation is that your informant is a Calvinistic jerk who knows nothing about the mind of God and likes to yank people's chains.

That's the great thing about religious belief. Since it is all make-believe and exists only in the human imagination, anyone can define it to be whatever they want. It is a little childish, but a lot of people seem to like it.

Why is Gandhi in hell with Hitler? Because he was not Christian?

Only a brain-dead Christian fundamentalist would assert such a stupid claim.Ghandi didn't worship Christ but he lived by Christ's rules--Hitler made Christianity compulsory in all German Schools--but ignored all of Christs' teachings.

If your a good person God will judge you on your actions based on your knowledge. Hitler had knowledge of God and he still did terrible things so he will have to pay greatly. god can see our hearts and our true desires but we must also live good lives. it's like in the batman movie "It's not just who you are on the inside, but your actions that define you."

Thats not for any of us to decide. God judges a man by his heart. What he knows, and what he did with that knowledge. Was he told about Jesus? Did he feel God pulling on him, but reject him? Who knows.

God knows everything you have ever done. Every second of the day. There is nothing that will escape his light. His light will shine in every dark place, there will be nothing to hide.

Much love to you, through Jesus Christ our Savior!!
