Buy the kitten food, and if it turns out the kitten won't eat it but keeps going for the dog food, then mix the two. A cat's diet is way different from a dog and constant dog food will harm or kill the kitty.

It's okay for a little while but the kitten will need kitten food in order to grow up strong, so you should try to mix a little bit of the dogs food in with the kitten food and mix it around so the kitten will get the dog food that he wants but yet he gets the nutrients that he needs. Try that for a little while and then start putting less and less dog food in there and soon he should start to be eating only kitten or cat food.

Eating some of your dog's food won't hurt it but since it's still a kitten, it needs things adult dog food doesn't have--far more calcium for one. Try to feed the dog in a room where the kitten can't get into; after the dog has eaten, remove the food. Cats have different needs then dogs, they need other nutrients they won't get in dog food, and kittens need still other things (from adult cats). Generally, cats are grazers--that is, they eat just a little many times a day. Whereas a dog is a wolfer (eats a lot of food at once so doesn't need to have food constantly available).

No, it needs to be eating kitten food. Actually, if you want to get technical, it should still be with it's mother! Animals should be with their mother and litter mates until about 8 weeks of age. They learn a lot of vital information from their mom about how to be a cat in this time period. If the kitten is already fully weaned, then you should buy kitten food and soften it up by adding some water. You can also try using canned, soft food made for kittens.

Eating a small piece of it won't hurt the cat, but cat food is especially balanced for a cat's nutritional needs. ( more meat and fat content)
A 1 month old kitten should really be with it's mother, nursing until it is 9 weeks old (2 months).

Dogs and cats have completely different nutritional needs. Your kitten really needs to be eating very soft kitten food at this point. Should it even be weened yet?

Nope, it's not okay. It needs to eat a specially formulated diet for growing kittens. Cat food contains different things than dog foods, in particular an essential amino acid that cats cannot make themselves called taurine. Feline diets contain adequate levels of taurine where dog foods are likely deficient for a growing kitten. So please, spring for the kitten chow.

no, it's not okay. dog food has more protein which is bad for cats so put the dog food somewhere else when your cats are hungry.
