To settle it...keeps it out of court. Therefore, there is not "official record" and they are not admitting guilt. It's all just a big coverup if you ask me.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't see how the church can survive financially. The next time, the lawyers will want more. They see how badly the church wants to avoid a trial, that will really expose them. I suspect the church would rather go broke, declare bankruptcy, than defend themselves in court. That way they could say they're being "persecuted". If they try to avoid going bankrupt, and hide assets, they can be charged with racketeering.

And its about time! This is nothing new. They've been doing this for hundreds of years. Its part of their culture. The sooner this lying, evil, self-righteous organization is eliminated, the better.

How in the world did the Catholic Church get all that money? You see this is a good example of tithing. People that go to church giving their tithes and sacrificing part of their living for the church; while the church hoards the tithes to where they got millions or beyond billions of dollars? That must be a sin. How could that be approved in the eyes of God?! The sacrifice of the poor for another ones greed is senseless. The Catholic members must be blind in their strong belief of the Pope "The King of Hypocrites." Hello Catholic Members...................... your wake up call!

Getting real expensive! After a few more hundreds of millions maybe the Pope will wipe the dust off some long-forgotten "words of God" somewhere and say, "Oh, yeah, gee, priests can marry after all and slake their lusts into women so they don't have to get all twisted inside and poke little boys any more! Hallelujah! What a blessing! It'll be hard to get used to though; I just can't stop molesting little boys!"

Actually they will be quite fine financially. The Catholic Church is one of the biggest businesses on Earth, with hundreds of Billions in overall holdings, most of which are exempt from the taxes of most countries in which they operate. So they will be fine,if things get really tight they can sell some of the priceless art and artifacts at the Vatican to cover it. It's the least they can do for looking the other way,and actively covering it up,as their priests abused children for decades.

So very sad. No one wins. The victims will be emotionally damaged indefinetely unless the RCC aids their psychological rehabilitation. Money may help the victims seek professional counseling, but is only a bandaid.

Jesus heals everyone who wants their hurts to go away!

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." -- Isaiah 53:5 KJV

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." -- 1 Peter 2:24 KJV

I am praying that the RCC is assisting these victims in more ways than settling it in courts with money. Healing from molestation is a life long process and requires love rather than money to get these folks back in emotional, spiritual health.

May God carry and lift these victims to recovery! In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.

Throwing money at a horrible situation and in many cases move the pedophiles to a different place where prosecution can not be pursued.
