I was devastated. I had been really hoping Jr would sign with RCR. I've been a race fan since the 1950's and have always liked the Childress organization. Having been a Big E fan, had it not been for Junior, I may well have given up on Nascar altogether. I'll still support him out of pure loyalty, but it won't be the same.
As far as Theresa is concerned, she did nothing with Jr's best interests in mind. Her only concern was staying in control of an team that Dale Sr built for his kids... not Theresa. Her hiring of that Max Seigel idiot was a terrible move. Those two deserve each other. I see DEI facing an uphill battle. I doubt Truex Jr will stay once his contract expires, and they'll be hard pressed to find a quality driver willing to drive for a team that she runs. After the end of next season, when DEI's contract with Budweiser expires, I see Bud going elsewhere. By 2009, DEI will be running on par with MWR.

I suspect he might eventually have had a large following just because his manner and style and honesty are so refreshing but there is no question but what he is the anointed child in NASCAR. But he has handled this anointed one image or mantle that has been placed on him very well. He doesn't speak ill of anyone. When you hear him during the race talking with his crew he is always positive. When he's to blame for a problem he accepts it and doesn't grouse. It's clear he has been raised right and takes to heart that he has a voice that will be listened to. I don't think he over uses who he is or over plays the anointed one role. And I suspect he would shed it if he could. But he can't. So he does the best he can to be himself, be true to himself, and hopes the racing world will someday credit him for what he himself has done and not only be behind him because he is "Junior". I like the young man. He isn't my favorite driver but I do enjoy when he is interviewed listening to him. He seems to have a positive outlook. Given all the baggage he carries, I find that a bit amazing.

No, not at all. I'm sure Jr. did everything he could that he thought was fair to stay with DEI-from what I understand he and his sister tried to come to certain agreements with Teresa and she declined to accept their terms. As far as I'm concerned, Jr. didn't dump DEI, DEI(Teresa) dumped him. He is Sr's own flesh and blood and I believe she knows this is not what Sr would have wanted. If she truly wanted to do what was best for DEI, she would have done what she knows Sr wanted for his business and his children- it would have been the right thing to do to turn over majority ownership to Jr. Anyway, I am a Jr fan no matter who he's driving for and will continue to cheer him on every week. Maybe, one day he'll be back at DEI-for the right price that it is if Teresa has anything to do with it.

I'm a Jr. fan and don't drink Budweiser, so its no big deal to me.
Jr. has more than enough fans, but some of them may be Bud fans first. If those are the ones that throw cans on the track, then he is better off without them anyway.
I'll remain a fan no matter whose decal is on the car (unless its something like "MoveOn.org" or the like).

I was disappointed at first but realized what Jr said that he wanted to win a championship and being at DEI would not get it any time soon there, although I like DEI they are a B team compared to HMS,RCR,Gibb teams , DEI has gotten better the past few races but don`t think either Jr or truex jr will win the chase this year.
maybe top ten at best perhaps top five ,I was hoping that Bud would stick with Jr but looks like that`s not going to happen either, looks like it could be mountain dew next season not sure on the # yet but hope that they freethe#8 .
Jr got better with Tony Jr as his crewchief this year had a little bad luck but hope for a good race tomorrow and good finish for Dale Jr....freethe#8

I am a huge Jr. fan, and I think he did what he thought was the best idea. He probably didn't make the best decision, could have made better, but who are we to judge. He did the right thing in HIS eyes. I know, it just seems like I'm here preaching. Now I'm done. I'd say no, I'm not disappointed by his choice. Let's just watch and see what happens with him and his racing.

his stepmama used to beat him with the garden hose when dale was away. she stole his money and sleep with all the other drivers and mechanics. everybody knows the truth. he didn't know what else to do. hope he has a little luck now but i doubt it. his daddy had all the luck. dale junior is just a nice guy who would rather be fishing and hanging out. he feels obligated to race because of outside pressure and the news people. if he were smarter he would walk away. hope he figures that out. dale senior was not just a driver he was driven. his son isn't like that.

Well, your going to get mine. He did what he thought was best for himself. Just suck it up and get over it. I'm not a Jr or Jeffy fan, since The King retired and Dale Sr was killed, I just follow the sport.

In the beginning..I was hoping Junior would go with RCR...once he made his decision and gave the explanation as to ~why~ he chose HMS ...I got over the disappointment of him not going to RCR.
As for feeling betrayed..NO I Don't !
I've always been an Earnhardt fan and will remain one. And I support Junior in this. I wish the best for him and his new team.
Another thing...his fans shouldn't betray him now...for not making the decision 'they' wanted him to make. His fans should respect him and trust him enough to make decisions that affect 'his' life and future to the best of his ability. He's the one that has to live with the decisions he makes.
I for one, am glad he made the decision that was 'right for him' ... not...just for what his 'fans wanted'.
It's ~his~ life...and a loyal fan will continue to support him!
Go........Chevy Racin!
FREE THE EIGHT !!
BTW.....Teresa Earnhardt did what she thought was best for
Teresa Earnhardt and the daughter she had with
Dale, Sr. ........her interest is not in Dale Sr's other
children. Dale,Sr started that business with the
intention of leaving it for his children.."ALL of his
children" and he also said in an interview with
Sports Illustrated..he hope that Junior would be the
one to take over for HIM....he said he wanted all of
his children to be involved with DEI but that Junior
seemed the most interested in running the business.
IT'S LIKE D.W. SAID....................
TERESA WANTS TO TURN DEI INTO TEI !
Junior didn't 'dump' DEI........is step mother 'dumped on' him!
