If one day to God is one-thousand years to us, does this mean that plants survived for 1,000 years before the Sun was created?

The thousand year bit is taken from mis-read scripture... but it doesn't matter anyhow. This is only one in hundreds of bogus ideas from the bible. It's all just a lot of nonsense and we all know it.

No. The creation story was a literal story where an actual day=a day. However, in prophecy this works. Why is this so, I'm not sure. However, if it were not so, then how do the prophecies of Daniel work out? The 70 week prophecy could not have worked if this were not so.
GOD bless

The creation story is not metaphoric. The author went to pains to state 'the evening and the morning was the first day' etc. This is a literal account, using literal time, not a metaphoric prophecy.
If you're not happy with this answer, ask again 'tomorrow'.

If you bother to read the rest of the verse it says, "and a thousand years are like a day." Have you figured that in your "calculation". Good idea of you actually tried to read the Bible in the sense in which it is written - Oh, but then you may be in danger of actually learning something.

Time is relative.
See the 'source'... it gives an argument that the universe is both old and young depending on your viewpoint. Quite fun with an open mind.

Yes. Just like the huge flood came and drowned everyone and everything, and the fire that rained down , and the lady that turned to salt, and the giant that was defeated by the midget, and all that other stuff to. Come on man! You don't believe??? Why???? IT all happened...(in fairy tale land)...but it still happened.
