Ok, I am not a loud person by nature. I studied music, I understand the dangers of damaging your ears etc. However, I recently moved into this great loft. Now, the floors are concerte, but unfortunately the walls are drywall and, well, I have (absolutely gorgous (!), but..) loud neighbor. Actually, it's her home stereo system. She doesn't do it often, however, there are times I just want to drown out her sound (imagine walking into an Abercrombie and Fitch store and hearing the music FULL BLAST).
No, I really don't want to ask her to turn it down. Why? I think this is one of the few things she enjoys in life. I feel really bad, actually. She seems like quite a nice person and all of that. Honestly, if you start telling your immediate neighbors to keep turning their stuff down it really puts a damper on positive neighbor relationships.
Anyhow, what is the LOUDEST non-audiophile system I can get? :)

Wow, great answers guys. And yes, honestly, I would normally love to ask this girl out, but she is:
1. My next door neighbor... odd if things were to "work out".. then not "work out".
2. I don't have a lot of time for a relationship right now
3. Yeah, I don't have a third excuse.
But really, really good comments on the post.
Let me, um, rephrase this a bit. I don't want to "out do" her stereo system. The thing is, I AM wearing headphones whenever it gets blasted and-
Oh hell, you know, I SHOULD just go over there and tell her to turn it down (then ask if she wants a glass of wine!)
Ok, so the real question:
What is a really, really powerful "entry cost level" stereo system that would provide great playback for stereo music, theatre sound and has a decent signal to noise ratio (to answer both posts, yes, I love audiophile stuff, it costs a lot; and yes, the wattage can blow things away *ha ha, music majors CAN do some arithmetic!* but how about the best quality?)
:)
