No, to win the Tour you need to be able to climb the Mountains and he isn't a climber he is a time trial specialist. The mountains are where the most time is gained, but on the other hand it's where the most time is lost.

David millar does not stand much of a chance for the overall in this years tour. Millar not that strong in the high mtns, to be considered a contender for the overall GC.

not this year, he is still learning how to ride this race, it is a three week long event and takes a lot of different skills and abilties.
he really needs to work on his climbing to have any chance of keeping up with the big boys and it does not help that his team is not of a good enough all round ability to help him.

next year maybe.

He is 1 hr and 10 mintes back so I would say he has been enlimiated from any yellow jersey contention.

no, he will lose chunks of time in the mountains that he won't be able to recover during the TTs.

he will need to be able to climb better in the future.

I don't think he's a good enough climber to win it all. He's good at time trials, though.
