Yes. I am Christian but straight. I have gay Christian friends at church. I don't judge them. You won't go to hell just because you are gay. I'd be interested to know what "bible" Wanda reads! Not mine, I know. (King James, NAS, etc...)
And, either the poster that gave me athumbs down is an atheist or needs to read the bible more often! MATT 1:7.

Every Christian needs to fight the temptation to sin. Being a christian means that you imitate christ to the fullest extent. Jesus christ always did what was pleasing to God, even when it was difficult. So leaving your family, your wife who vowed to be with til death do you part, would not exactly be following in christs footsteps. Also, if this man is encouraging you to leave your family, gay or not, that isn't someone you would want to spend a lot of time with. Also,1 Cor. 6:9, 10 clearly states that homosexuality is a sin, so those practicing that or any other sin will not inherit God's Kingdom. Many who claim to be christian, aren't. You need to examine the bible to tell the difference. But definitely try and make it work with your family.

First off- Christians are people. The thing that is SUPPOSED to set them apart is their relationship with Christ. To have a right relationship with Christ means to follow His teachings. To follow His teachings would mean to take the Bible seriously.
One of the things the bible says is not be angry. How many Christians do you know that do not become angry? Most people do. Is it wrong? According to Jesus' teachings- yes. Does that mean that people who get angry are not a Christian? No -- However. what Jesus does say is -if you sin, then you ought to repent - which means to stop sinning - and to ask for forgiveness.
I do not believe the bible teaches that homosexuality is acceptable in Jesus' teachings. Are there churches that preach and teach otherwise? Yes. Why? Because we are living in a sin ful world and Paul says in the last days even the church leaders will be deceived. Mark 13:22
But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2nd Corinth 11:3
The bible states it is wrong for people of the same sex to be together sexually because God created Man and Woman to be together -- Romans Chapter One. HOWEVER it very important to know that God forgives every sin!
Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord Genesis 13:13
Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom--both young and old--surrounded the house. They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them. Genesis 19:4
God says WHILE we were yet sinners He loved us! Romans 5:8
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. 1 Corin 6:9-11

The answer is NO! The Holy Spirit is the One who takes up residense inside the born again believer delivering them from all things impure and giving them the very nature of God. Homosexuals are those who have given themselves over to defiled evil spirit which have taken over not only their mind but their body as well. Unless they come to Christ and be filled with the holy Spirit of God they will be ushered to the same place prepared for Satan and these demons of homosexuality. God does not sanction for his temple to be defiled by demons and this is why a person cannot be a christian and be gay..Either you are a Child of the lving God or you are a child of the devil and there is no inbetween. Each day that passes, you are becoming more and more like your spiritual father and his nature will be fully developrd in you wether godly or evil.. This is why judgement will come for those who have not surrendered their lives to Christ. Their nature being inpure and defiled cannnot enter the place where God dwells and this is why Christ came and died. For you and me. To make us a people pure and holy and by the Blood of the Lamb, tomake us sons and daughters of the living God as He is preparing a home for those who love him.

Anyone can be anything anymore. It's not up to anyone to judge anyone else. If he's gay, it's his soul that he must defend with God. We have to understand and forgive and NOT JUDGE. Homosexuality *is* one of the heavier sins, but when it all comes down to it, only they are responsible for their actions. No one else is. We all are the only ones to be held accountable in the end. So sure...he can be gay, he can be the biggest perv in society, a serial killer, a child molestor or anything else because only he has to face God over it. But if he's telling you that it's an acceptible practice within the church, he's lying. There are those Christians who will rip apart a gay person and try to get him to repent to save his soul before its too late...

Some faiths object to homosexual acts but 'love the sinner' - others are tolerant of personal choices like sexuality. But the short answer is - yes - people can be gay and Christian. This person may also be in denial about his sexuality publicly but feels more free to explore alternate lifestyles online.

A REAL Christian would not do that. And yeah their belief system has changed so much...but because THEY change it to what they want it to be. Because the Bible is still the same, and the Bible, God, doesn't allow that.

No. Some used to be gay, but when Jesus washed their sins away, they aren't gay any more.
You can do a net search to read some ex gay testimonies.
It is impossible for those born of God to abide in sin, (make sin a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within. A Christian can try, but Christian is miserable. Any kind of adulteries & fornications & idolatries are sin. So, the Holy Spirit convicts of the sin in early stages bringing one to confess their sin & He (Jesus) is faithful & just to forgive us our sin & cleanse us from it.

last time I checked the bible had not changed, and it says no.
according to the bible being gay is a sin, but so are a bunch of other things that people do, and they're Christians. last time I read Jesus sorta catered to siners, huh
now, hitting on you when you tell him you're married has nothing to do with Christianity, but says a lot about him.

Cannot practice homosexuality, he may have been told that it is not wrong to be gay, but hitting on anyone that you are not married to in a heterosexual relationship is wrong. This is a sad situation.
God's Word is not subject to election or opinion polls much as we Americans would like it to be.

Of course not. Consider Paul's letter to the Corinthians. Apparently some of them had been gay, but repented.
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 1Cor 6:9-11
Anyone practicing sexual immorality must cease from it if they want to live the Christian life.
