Of course it is okay. As long as it is tasteful there is no reason why you can not wear a simple black dress to an evening wedding. It would be very chic. Now, if you decided to wear white or red, that would be a different story. Both would be perceived as taking attention away from the bride.

It's seems to be more acceptable these days to see black at a wedding but I would find something that wasn't all black....mix it up with some color somewhere. It is a wedding after all, not a funeral.

Traditionally, black is not a proper color for a female wedding guest to wear - as black implies death. Nor is white a proper color for a female wedding guest to wear. A light solid pastel color of a material that is dressy would be much more appropriate.

i think so, just so it's not long sleeved or really long. i suggest cocktail length, with maybe an interesting waistline & maybe some embroidery. you could add a pastel or colorful wrap or sweater to make it seem more fun. also find earrings of a similar or same color as the wrap or sweater will tie it all together.

Black is always appropriate, but especially in the fall. Brown, gold, or ivory- white accent jewlery is perfect.

NO never were black, unless its an excotic with a fance border or else were a little longer then knee lenght red dress black less with a gold border and curl your hair and long earings
