Well, if its love...and he is close to your age then I say go for it! Love is an unstoppable thing. Its amazing. Even if dating is just calling eachother your bf/gf it doesn't matter. If you really like him then dating should start now! If its just a crush wait till you find something thats real. Good Luck With Love!

I hate to be the voice of reason here but do you trust your parents? What do they say? How old is this guy? Do you ever wonder about why he would want to date such a young person? Liking is one thing but dating is another? Have you discussed what could happen on a date with your parents? Are they aware of your attraction? Do they know this guy?
Remember, things can happen that you might never think of beforehand and you may not have any idea on how to deal with them.
Protect you. Care about you. Respect you. If you think you can do all these things and still "date" this person than mention it to someone who cares about you and see what they think.

It's best to start dating when you're in high school(14 and up) because the chances of your relationship being nothing more than kiddy games(if you date at your current age) are high.
I had my first boyfriend when I was 11 and it really wasn't worth it. A waste of six months, truly...

If you think you're ready to start dating do it. None of us know you. You know if you can deal with dating.I know 12 year olds who are very mature and are dating.I know 12 year olds who are very immature and dating is not even on their minds. You know who you are.12 year old dates are a lot different kind of dates. I'm sure sex is not in your near future. Some day you will get married and wish you never heard of men.

i started dating when i was 9 but the best time to start dating or when i will allow my child start dating is when she is 16 so she can drive her self and depend on some guy but u should ask your mom about since u are 12 may be you can have a boy friend butt not go to extreme measures!!!!???

You can hanging out with him , you know like a friend, but don't do nothing that you will regret after.But the best age to date it's 16.Good luck girl

When my daughters were your age I had told them that they would have to wait until after they were sixteen. This is because by then you are more physically and mentally mature enough to be able to handle yourself while going out on a date. And plus I would not have had to worry so much about them if they stay out a little later than usual.
But, really you should have quite sit down with your parents and calmly talk to them about this and find out what their opinions are on this matter.

About 16 or 17 is old enough. 12 year olds are not ready for this.

12 yr olds dont date. they talk on the phone for 2 hours and call that dating!!! then after the week is over you are broken up and moving on to the next little boy.
