I have been practically collecting pill bottles and cases for years because I don't know how to dispose of them and protect confidentiality. Any ideas?

take the medication to your local pharmacy. they will recycle the pots the medication came in and dispose of the pills. this is your only proper option. any other things you may decide to do are potentially dangerous and the pills could get into the wrong hands. so this option is best :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Flush the pills, destroy the labels, and toss the containers.

Only narcotic RX of those deceased or no longer in the home need to be returned to the Pharmacy.

You can rip the labels off and shred them, then just throw it away. Try soaking the bottles in water to make them easier to come off, or use nail polish remover, if you are having trouble.

most of them are plastic -- burn them, with glass, pick
off the label and throw in garbage or recycle. (if the label
comes off hard, boil in kettle to loosen)
