No. Thank the Catholic Church for:
introducing pagan holidays like Christmas and Easter into Christianity.
introducing the cross into Christianity, althought it is a pagan symbol that predates Christianity by thousands of years.
disregarding Jesus' command not to call one another by religious titles like "father." "Pope" also means "father."
the clergy and laity classes, even thought there were no such classifications in early Christianity.
trying to keep the Bible from being used y the common person during the "Dark Ages."
I would hardly call Catholicism the true faith.

The Pope actually didn't say anything. The Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith did. This statement isn't anything new, we still hold other Christain religions as "SISTERS" (read thw whole thing). This is about the Church's in Asia that have left the Church to help them out.

NO IT IS NOT any more than any other branch of christianity.
if we all loved one another, helped each other and acted like decent human beings we wouldn't NEED a single church or religious organization.
Vin
PS: your "true faith" just shelled out $600 MILLION dollars to settle a child abuse case in LA. Why doesn't the church defend itself in court if it's innocent? Your God also apparently has no problem with his priests raping kids and OBVIOUSLY all the church cares about is losing it's money. And what a JOKE THAT IS!! How do you make a vow of POVERTY AND HAVE $600 MILLION?????? I grww up catholic and I wish I see the day the church, and ALL the denominations become as bankrupt financially as they are spiritually.

Nothing has changed. The catholic church has always considered itself the only true church - the pope just reiterated their position.
And, to answer your question, no!

The Roman Catholic church the true faith?
DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH.
This is the beast out of the sea spoken of in Revelation 13, and the great whore spoken of in Revelation 17.
