Are red stretch marks just as a result of weight gain, or could it be from weight loss as well? I have quite a few on my thighs due to soccer and cheerleading...I've had stretch marks on the front of my thighs for over a year and they were normal skin color..now there is a little bit of red in them and I haven't gained any weight recently so could it be from the leg shrinking faster than the skin can handle (if that makes any sense lol)?

Also, I bought Palmers, but does it really actually work? And about how long does it take to show results? Does it work on the regular colored stretch marks?

Thanks! :)

Nothing REALLY works on stretch marks.

You will just have to try a few different remedies and see what works for you.

Before you start spending loads of money on different creams or surgeries, there are a few simple techniques you can try on your own at home. If your stretch marks are not too severe or aged, you can try taking a body brush and scrubbing the affected areas while in the shower. This loosens up the skin, and removes the dead skin on top, leaving fresh, more normal colored skin underneath.

The easiest, cheapest way to start is to try different creams. Creams such as cocoa butter or other natural vitamin E products will increase your skin’s flexibility. There are also creams that will improve the regeneration of your cells, such as Vitamin A or AHAs creams. You can also talk to your doctor about getting a prescription stretch removal cream.

You can get them from gaining weight too fast or too slow. Nothing but time will help the stretch mark fade.
