If you are taking public transit, it may also be faster - but maybe more costly - if you travel by GO bus, depending on when you start your trip.

The Oakville-Hwy 403 bus (route 19) runs from Mississauga to Toronto between 6:30 - 9:05am and between 3:30 - 5:05pm. You can take this bus going eastbound from Square One and then get off at the Yonge/Sheppard stop.

From there, transfer onto the TTC subway and ride the eastbound Sheppard subway-line to Don Mills station.

You can then take the eastbound #85A or B buses from the station which will take you right to the Zoo's front gates.

Hope this helps.

That's a long, long way.

It depends on what form of transportation you plan on taking.

By car, I'd go onto 403 onto 401 then exit at Meadowvale.

By public transportation, I'd take a Mississauga bus, either 20, 26, or 3 to Islington subway station, take the subway to Bloor-Yonge and change to northbound and take the 86 bus that goes to Meadowvale, or go all the way east on Bloor-Danforth, to Kennedy subway station, and take 86 bus.

The Mississauga busses will take you directly from Square One to the Eglinton Toronto Transit station. From there, you can take the subway.

I used to do this all the time, but it has been so long that I forgot the names of the stops and the bus numbers.
