i have this dream a lot, and i'm usually in the backseat of the car and it moves by itself.

You didn't say whether you felt good or bad about being the car. Suppose you feel good; then that would indicate that you are satisfied with your life and where you are going with it. If you felt bad about being in the same car, then you can assume the opposite; your life is not headed in the direction you want it to.
