From an European point of view, the French speaking people in Canada suffer from a unjustified contempt.

Mmm...if you go tell that to English Canadians, they'll burst out into rage, because they think all we do is whine uselessly and suck money out of the federal government's pockets. They just don't know the whole story...or rather their own national history.

I don't think there is still that much contempt on the English side of the country towards French Canadians, but there still is SOME, that is very subtly perceivable.

What the problem mainly is TOTAL misunderstanding from both sides as well as total miscommunication. We don't understand them and they don't understand us. They don't know/understand what we *really* want and strive for and same goes for us.

South Louisiana is predominately Cajun French. No contempt against them down there. They are the friendliest and parting-est people on earth.

Wouldn't life be easier if we all learned the same English lanugage? It is after all the best language.
