Did he decide to say that only a week after Bush visited for a reason?

Well of course he is. In his mind. You'll have to make up your own mind for yourself, unfortunately.

The answer is yes. I am a former protestant who is now Catholic. It was after much research and prayer that I decided to become Catholic. She is the only Church that dates back to Christ, and the only Church with apostolic authority.

Jesus set down one Faith, one Church, not 54,000 different kinds. A common sense analysis of the early church will show this. Protestantism didn’t show up until 1,500 years after Christ, and has simply continued to fracture ever since that first break 500 years ago.

Protestants will probably point about the “sins” of the Church to prove that Catholicism is wrong. What they miss is that the Church is the Faith that Christ gave us, not the men. Those “sins” were committed by sinners, but it is the Church, the Faith that we should be focused on.

God bless and take care.

NO

The first religion was Pagans...then many others evolved...but Catholicism came after Judaism

Your current Pope is very much involved in politics..though I thought that they were not supposed to be...also your religion has stuck its nose into politics on a on going basis and they are now really pushing forward....

Maybe your Pope should return the articles that belongs the Jewish people that the pope during the Second World War hid out...

To learn about this you should take a Theology course at a Uni....

Like Danny H, I, too, am a former Protestant who is now Catholic, after much research and prayer. Yes, I believe that Catholicism really is the only True Faith.

Here is the full text of the new document that states nothing new: http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_20070629_responsa-quaestiones_en.html

Most Christian denominations believe that each of them is the fullest version of the Church of Christ.

While the Catholic Church also believes that she is "the highest exemplar" of the mystery that is the Church of Christ, she does not claim that non-Catholic Churches are not truly Christian. The Catholic Church teaches:

Furthermore, many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church.

All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 819: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chpt3art9p3.htm#819

With love in Christ.
