My boyfriend has gone out tonight with the lads. I said i was going to stop in and chill out.. A friend text me asked if i wanted to go for a few and i phoned my bf to tell him, he has gone skitz at me down the phone saying im not allowed to go out.!!!!!
Should i listen to him or go out anyway?

It sounds like he is a control freak, you not only should go out tonight, you should dump him before he gets worse.
People that do that are dangerous, they try to control everything you do, say and think.
Your entitled to your own life, you have your own mind and can do what you want. No one has the right to control you!
How do you think he would react if you reversed the scenario and told him he couldn't go out with the boys?
I'll tell you, he would tell you to shut up and then he would go out anyway.

Hi Danielle,
Your boyfriend obviously wants to control you. How is it that he gets to go out and you don't- jealousy. Yes that green eyed monster has reared its head. He may think you may find someone who you can have a proper relationship with and not be controlled by. You do deserve better. One question: Would he hit you if you went out? You are just as entitled to leave the home as he is. A rfelationship is among equals and is NEVER one sided.

i don't know the full context of your relationship, but it strikes me you should definitely go out. His reaction is blatantly unacceptable. Personally, I would also look again at the relationship as a whole. Someone can feel attached to another person but be needy and controlling, which makes both people unhappy in the longer run. This can feel like 'love', but it's distorted. Look at the web and see what it says about healthy relationships, and compare it to your experience. If everything seems okay, all the better!

1) you"re not married 2) why is it that is can go out and you can't he isn't your father. Yes he is wrong to tell you that he sound abusive. if this goes on all the time its time to look for a new boyfriend. how can you put up with this? tell you what to do is not right you are not a child you can do what you want.
you need to talk to him and lay down some grounds about your relationship or there is going to be some changes. and if you don't he will rule you and roost and you will not be a very happy person.

I don't think so. A partner never has the right to tell you what to do. Ever.

Go out! You are an adult and can make your own decisions. He is not the boss of you. If he has this big of a problem with you going out then you two need to discuss this because he obviously has some issues with you doing anything with out him, but HE'S able to go out and do whatever without you putting a fight. Something is wrong there.....

well, u haven't described to us yr "friend" i will assume is "he". this qn is critical coz yr b/f thinks that u are going to see some one (it cld be true or not) thats why he's commanding u with a big NO! first, look at yr relationship, atleast u kno his +ve and -ve signs. to me, to keep things cool, dont go out. txt yr friend that yr not feeling fine to go out, so u cant go. wait for yr b/f to come and unleash the anger at him coz he doesn't own u to put orders for u to follow. every one has got to exercise his/her rights of freedom as long as u dont do over the bar.keep peace in yr r/ship bt tell him what u feel( which is right) and nxt time he wont put orders for u to follow. good luck

As they say what is good for the goose is good for the gander why should you stay in he obviously does not trust you and why does he not want you to go out with your friends when he can please go out and don't let him control you because if you do it will only get worse

realy like do you think he is right if he does this now he gona try and stop you hanging with you mates remenber they are your friends dont listen to him friends are more important go out and have fun like he is its your life you may love him but he isnt in control of you go enjoy yourself friends are the best ..x enjoy urself =)

Tell him to get packing!! If you let him tell you what to do now how far will he take it?! Go out and have fun just like he is! Its not one rule for one and a different for another, If you go out and he has a go tell him where he can go!!
