That is not a reason to spit on anyone, " because lots of people don't like them."

If your in a wreck, who do you plan on calling??? Police. If you come home from the movies and your house has been robbed, who you going to call??? The Police.

Look, I work close with them and while a very, very small percent are slugs or on the take, 99% are hard working and have a tough job to do. People are offended when the ones hired to enforce the laws of the land, stop them for breaking the laws.

Besides, spitting is so gross and the last time someone spit on me, I knocked the crap out of them, then had them charged with assault since they had Hep C. Cops can do the same thing, charge you with a crime.

The best thing to say is this, if you don't want to deal with police, slow down, buckle up, and drive safely. If you need them, call them, they are people with families just like you. They have feelings and a very tough job to do.

NO! No, no, no and NO! Not only is it considered asault that can get you arrested, as many people have pointed out, but it's also DISRESPECTFUL. Police work a thankless job every day, and they do not need to deal with being spit upon by a few losers who do not care for the alleged attitudes.

Go on a long walk or vacation and let your house get clean robbed, then see if you want to spit on the police when they try to HELP you!

And there are people who like and respect police officers. You should get out and meet them.

People are not allowed to spit on anyone let alone a police officer. If you do spit on a police officer, you WILL be arrested for assault on a police officer; if you are infected with a commutable disease (like AIDS), the charge would be assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder . According to the penal codes, the act of spitting is an explicit act of intent to harm.

A better question, should the police be allowed to batter people who spit on them with a baton? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Are you legally allowed to spit on other people? No that would be considered assault.

I do not understand why people do not like the police. I have met numerous law enforcement officers and they seem good people doing a job that should be respected, but is not.

No. If someone spit on me I would beat the crap out of them, if you spit on a cop you should at the very least get arrested and "accedentally" hit you head on the way into the police car.

Should the police be allowed to spit on you?

No, that's horrible.

I would hate to be standing doing my job - and earning an honest living and then being spat on !

Even if you don't like the police as an organisation you need to remember that each police officer is just a human under the uniform and as such should be treated with respect - after all they don't make the rules they are just instruted to enforce them.
