ps i have had women laugh at me when i attempted to 'chat them up' because of my appearance (ie ginger) and financial status ps ginger means red head and in my case freckles and green eyes

I shouldn't think your hair colour has anything to do with it. Women can spot the type you are - nearly 40, never had a gf and no job. You aint a catch right now. Fortunately, your life is about to change. The moment you post a question like that you know you are ready to move on. First of all, you need to stop dwelling on the lack of gf and work at being a fully all-round catch. A better job, sorting out where you live, getting some advice on clothes and hair styles (dont worry about ginger hair - lots of girlies love it and it actually doesn't worry them if you have a good sense of humour and are nice to them). Once you build up your confidence, women will be attracted to you anyway. So. Tomorrow you plan your New You and keep working at your life until it takes a shape you like. Never give in to apathy - it isn't attractive at all!

What has age and appearance to do with having girl friend..
You may be dreaming to have some young, smart and sexy girl friend.. and not a simple plain woman who will really share with you love and friendship...
You need to reorient whole of your mind set up
Women are not at all averse to financially weak friends. But they even do not like friendship with Weak Minded Man who has Low Self Esteem.
So look within and erradicate negative junk you have been carrying till your grew 40 .. and no gril friend...
You are more experienced in living a lonely life than you will ever live a Lovely life
Man time is short and now you have to act quick...

i agree with the first answer, dye your hair, get some mates and go out, you never know who you will meet , build your confidence, but to be honest , what has having ginger hair got to do with you not having a girlfriend ? i think you are awear you have ginger hair and it is trying to bring you down, don't let it, work it to your advantage, some ginger hair is nice , and i know some of my friends think ginger is sexy , you will meet the person that is right for you watch and see, build yur confidence a little things are going to be ok, be happy,

Dye your hair!
Seriously, you need to boost you general self cofidence, you can do this by doing volenteer work or just talking to people more.
Alot of women find confident people more attractive.
Make sure your always yourself too.

You should love the way you look and people will see that confidence and be attracted to you!
you love yourself and people will love you. start with yourself first, sounds like you dont have much self esteem!
and if it is the hair your bothered about so much then dye it!
but even with dyed hair, if you dont have self esteem it wont make much difference! good luck anyways!

get out more, open up little bit more, if you have a hobby that people like you meet once a week for a chat. then go to one and find yourself a girlfriend.
