reallytrue101, it's called SLAVERY. Your fellow Christ-followers kidnapped hundreds of Africans and brought them here in chains and made them slaves. That's how the country flourished. Is that what you mean when you say God helped the country?

I think Michael Stipe really nailed it when he described the U.S. as 'ungovernably large'. There are just too many people and too much land to all be governed by one group on one coast.
So I'll trade the god part if we could just alter the one nation part. Or get back to the original idea of states' rights having at least equal say. The Bush regime has done so much to utterly trash that fundamental practice and principle.

regrettably, anti-nationalism replaced into the very farthest factor from the minds of the Knights of Columbus and others who pushed to characteristic the "under God" clause to the Pledge back in the Nineteen Fifties. So i think of that "one u . s . a ., indivisible" is perchance as good as any. yet I do exactly like the sentiment of "one u . s . a . between countries", it incredibly is one that rather some human beings seem to have hassle with.

it was supposed to be 'one nation indivisable' until 1954 when some theist added 'under god' in its place, and when you consider the constitution of the US says 'freedom from religion' it seems silly to have something god related in a national saying. also it seems to me that secularism was promoted among the founding fathers

If we're going to look to pop culture for a new motto, why not "One nation under a groove, getting down just for the funk of it"?

God does not tag along for the ride; God does not take a back seat to anyone, esspecially arrogant, selfish people.
How is it that you believe this great Nation became the number one superpower in the World in less than 200 little years?
God will withdraw himself, and then when
we are attacked again by the nutcase Muslims, those who pushed to throw God out of everything in this Nation, will be the very first to whine and cry "OH GOD, OH GOD" WHY? WHY?
They are all so damned arrogant until they get their peepee stuck in a door, and then wow are those church pews full.

I think we're too worried about the part that says "under God" to remember we're supposed to be ONE Nation.

how about "one nation under constant asinine attack by non-religious extremists" or "one nation under total disarray over a three letter word"
I think those two cover your peoples side of the arguement quite aptly.
