You can start introducing dry to him now.. Dry mixed w/ esbilac, and slowly wean him off the mixture onto the dry. He has had teeth for a while now, as you probably know. He'll do fine eating food.

DP is right! Your pup can start to eat dry puppy food soaked with the puppy replacer milk right now. Just make sure it very loose and the kibble is really broken up well. by 5 weeks old you can stop the puppy milk all to gether and just soak the kibble in warm water and break it up with a fork. At 6 weeks old just soak the food with warm water and give it to your pup. at 6 weeks old mix the dry kibble and some soaked food and feed your pup this. At 7 weeks old just dry kibble and plenty of watser. You can feed the pup this until you either give him away 8 weeks old or sell the pup.

You should feed your pup at 4 weeks old 4 times a day. Feed him 4 times a day until 6 weeks old then 3 times a day from that point on.

he should be started on dry food now. i usually take a god puppy chow I use purina puppy chow and make it like soup. offer theis to him before the esbilac. let him have 10 minutes to eat and then follow it with teh esbilac.
At 5 weeks make it thicker and start with leaving water down but follow up with the esbilac. at 6 weeks make it just slightly moist, leave water and a small bowl of just plain dry so he can pick at it and learn how to eat it.
by 71/2 to 8 weeks he should be on just solid food.
He can start worming now if needed and get his first booster at 6 weeks.
good Luck

uh....uh....uh.... not sure, i do not speak whatever language you are typing. i think it is a form of English, just a little on the confusing side. do you want to know when u can start feeding the dog regular food? well, if that is the question..then surely by 6 weeks u could switch foods gradually. i am not sure what all the mom "not let him get some milk since yaddayaddyadda.." stuff has to do w/ anything.

i think u and larryg speak the same language.. why don't you just email each other

and she is right pits r illegal in TRAILER PARKS! geez!
added: i meant! that just because a dog is a pit doesn't mean it automatically is ruthless. u (Me!) obviously know nothing about breeding or raising animals. pits r illegal in many places but mostly in like tailer parks and such because the ones u typicakky find there are not from a reputable line!

im not sure bo ut the 1st part of your question but for the part bout feeding pup dry food is good at 6 weeks. most say bout 8 but six is fine .my pit has been eating dry food since he was 6 weeks.I would place the mom on the floor and make her feed pup from time to time that vital for his immune system.
\ME! that is your opinion, very stupid one but is yours.as being an adult(i think) you should do your homework b4 hating anythingand you would find out the truth.pit bulls make up a small percent of bites on humes.and for a city or state to ban a breed of animals is the stupiest ******* place in the ******* world. Its people like you who gives my dog a bad rap.Thats like banning cars because they hit people, and you probly say no the person driving the car is at fault which is true .there only banned coz there feared.

I believe that puppies nurse until they are aound 6 weeks old. By then the puppies are getting those sharp puppy teeth in and the mother will generally not allow the puppies to nurse because the teeth hurt the mother.
I would definately check with the vet to see what he/she says and then go from there.
If the vet says that you are doing the right thing, then by all means continue with what you are doing.
You were smart to take the puppy from the mother. The puppy might not have survived without your intevention.
Good luck with your new puppy. Please make sure that it has all of its shots (DHLPP and Parvo). It is also important to get ALL of the follow up shots so that your puppy is fully protected.

Pit bulls are illegal. If the cops find out your animal will be put to sleep. I hope they do. They are nasty foul animals that bite like crazy.
