My dog has skin allergies/rash and the vet gave me some Omega 3 liquid caplets. I don't want to buy them from the vet again because it was really expensive. Where else can I get these for a cheap price?

They're on sale right now, so stock up!
I like Drs. Foster & Smith's website for medicines. They are respectable and have good quality stuff for a low price. I save about 50$ buying my Heartgard and Frontline through them.

If you look up allergy care on the website, you'll find another one called "Maximum Relief Allergy Kit" which includes the Omega 3 pills and another pill. That's what I give my dog for his allergies, and the results are AMAZING. He used to scratch himself raw every spring, now he rarely even itches.

I actually used to sell fish oil to the food industry.

Omega 3s come in three variations. Flaxseed, fish oil, and algae oil.

Fish oil can come from different fish sources. Tuna which is the only one where mercury can be an issue. Salmon. Menhadden. Other mixed fish sources.

For a variety of industry reasons, things have standardized on what's known as 18 - 12. If you look at the bottle. In each capsule about 30 percent of the capsule is actually omega 3s.

Omega 3s are good for a lot of things. Eyes, skin, hair, joints, etc. As far as allergies are concerned, it probably isn't an issue that it's minimizing the allergies as much as it is making the skin better and the hair better. It's also tremendous for hearts, dogs and human.

Omega 3s are pretty benign. One of the reasons that they work for your heart is that they thin your blood. This is one of the few bad things about them. If you give your pet too much, they might have a problem clotting.

Our Rotts tolerated 2/3 gram (two capsules) once a day. Our Aussie and Border Collie get one capsule once a day.
