I think you're talking about Bobbie Gentry's Ode to Billy Jo. I always thought that was really depressing. It says, "Billy Jo McAllister jumped off the tallahatchie bridge." There was also a movie about this starring Robby Benson in the 70's. Quite dark and depressing.

hummm....u got me....trying to picture this and I have yet to come up with an answer...I mean, there's no inbetween spots...you have the bridge and you have the air...if you say the bridge is before hand and the air is after then where can he besides on the ground already or water....i'm dieing to know...
