Can you plz translate this name for me?
What does it mean?
And how to pronounce it?
Where would an accent go when writing
or saying the name ect...
Mirella.
I did look it up. But, I want to know
if it's a True translation.
And how to pronounce it, properly.
It said the name is of French origin,
and I don't speak french.
Thx.

Mirella is actually the Italian form of the French name Mireille. Mireille came from the old Provençal name Mireio. The name was first used by the poet Frederic Mistral, who probably derived the name from the Provençal word mirar, meaning "to admire."

I don't know how to pronounce Mirella but I'd guess it'd be mee-raya.

Mireille is, I believe, pronounced mee-rayuh.

There are no accent marks used on either name.

It's just a name. It's pronounced Meer-eh-lah. I don't think this is originally a French name, but it looks Italian, and at the same time I've seen this name in my French textbooks. Also, I've seen the name Mireille (Meer-ey), which is French, and similar to "Mirella".

Actually, the French pronunciation is more like 'mir-RAY-eh', with the last syllable barely voiced. In European languages other than English, final 'e's' are always pronounced.

Also, there's a current opera singer named Mirella Freni. I've heard her on the Met opera broadcasts, and she's fabulous!

Mir-el-la. (In Italian both Ls have to be pronounced).
The French version Mireille is pronounced "mir-ay".
The French version came first. Mireille is from the Provençal name Mireio, which was first used by the poet Frederic Mistral. He probably derived it from the Provençal word mirar meaning "to admire".

Mirella is not a French name - the French equivalent would be Mireille. Mirella is Italian and originally meant 'admirable.'
