As a Nassau County resident, I'm going to say Freeport. On Nautical Mile (Woddcleft Avenue) there are quite a few local fishing boats that you can get on (1/2 day, full day).

They usually do fluke fishing. As for crab catching, right behind my home - in the Milburn Boat Basin - I constantly see people come to do crab fishing. They use everything from cages to fishing poles with chicken legs as bait. They routinely walk away with no less than 3 barrels of crabs.

Wantagh Park in Wantagh. It's a Nassau County park right off of Merrick Road, right next to the Wantagh Parkway. Plenty of blue claw crabs there as well as snappers, sometimes bluefish. You also might pick up fluke, but not 19.5 inch keeper size..

Jones Inlet is a great place to catch fluke.. Just off Jones Beach there are also several shipwrecks where bluefish and sea bass tend to congegrate, and you can let your boat drift above the wrecks, sink your lines, and wait for them to bite. You can probably pay to get onto a party fishing boat which will carry a bunch of paying fishermen out off the coast to fish for a day.

I went to this beach almost 3 years ago.. I can't remember the name but it's near Jones Beach and it's really, really nice! Fishing is great and so is crabbing! You wouldn't believe how much crabs I got in 10 minutes!

don't get yet another dogs. You did no longer point out education the pit or something - i think your place grew to become into basically a waystation. And small dogs and sons and daughters do no longer mixture...ever. they're too fragile and the toddler won't be able to appreciate that each and each unmarried tiny toy must be picked up as quickly because it is dropped or the dogs eats and gets obstructed. i do no longer think of the two you or your daughter is waiting for a dogs. Oh...and you do no longer "donate" a dogs. I assure, pit and different rescues arent finding for donations. they're crammed to overflowing. you would be astoundingly fortunate in case you hit upon somebody to take him.
