I live in an upper middle class town. While most of the rest of town is huge 5,000 square foot homes, I live on a modest street. However, the average home price on my street is $400K-$500K for a 1200-1500 square foot home. Some people are middle class individuals w/ high schools or college aged, few are empty nesters and a majority are young working families w/ children.

Therefore, you can guess that everyone's home are very neat. The lawns are nicely maintained, flowers planted, the upkeeps of the homes themselves is nice.

However, about 1.5 year ago, I got new neighbors. With each passing month, their yard becomes dirtier and dirtier My driveway parrallels the side of their garage. On this side they have old night stands, broken kitchen chairs, an old TV, a few garbage cans filled, empty boxes, a broken bike. I can also see into the back of their yard, They house came w/ a swimming pool.

This is there second summer here. Neither this summer or last have they used or even cleaned the swimming pool. It's not covered and has old water in it. They also have a washing machine in their back yard. They rarely mow their grass.

It's also rumored that someone in the house has a drug problem. The cops have been there numerous times.

Their yard has been gross since Day 1, and it's getting worse.

I am not for approaching these individuals, b/.c they rarely leave the house.

But the garbage is an eyesore.

I don't have money for a fence and it's not really with the character of my house or the neighborhood. I don't want put one up.

We have huge privacy bushes, but you can still see the garbage through the srubs.

This is very uncommon for this neighborhood.

I hate to sound elitest, but I don't even know how these slobs can afford to live on our nice street.

It's an eyesore. I was thinking of selling my home. Prespective buyers are going to be concerned.

I brought up wealth, so you can picture the neighborhood. I didn't want people thinking this was a city or place where this might be a landlords fault. I was pointing out that people are neat and due to the price of homes, maintain them well. I'm making the point as the home is a status symbol here. So, people treat them like trophies.

Odd situation for this town.

For all intents and purposes, the cost of the home doesn't matter as much as the fact of how they are keeping the exterior. So I don't understand your point in discussing finances. Keep in mind, people of wealth are slobs as much as people with very little money and vice versa. Look at Britney Spears for a good example of this.

With that being said, contact your local division of Code Enforcement and report them. They will receive a citation and will have to clean up the mess. Most citations give them 7-14 days, so keep calling the Code Enforcement office if it isn't resolved.

I have neighbors like that, too.

PS: Most newer neighborhoods have a Neighborhood Association. See if yours does and you can also complain to them.

I had a neighbor like this and it is extremely frustrating to gaze out at your yard and have the view totally ruined by a backdrop of garbage and castoffs. I tried planting shrubs and that helped some. I also contacted code enforcement at the the city/county building and they came out and issued some fines which made them clean up their act to a point, but not totally. I tried politely asking them to at least bag their trash so it wasn't always getting blown into my gardens, but they just got sloppier to 'show me'. Finally, they were foreclosed on and had to move. I don't know what the answer to this kind of general disrespect for others that some people practice is. I wish I did. Good luck.

I can understand your frustration. No one wants to live next door to people like that. Is there a Neighborhood Association? I'm guessing not, or they would have already addressed this issue. Then you need to go through your city government and find the correct office to contact. They will issue a citation and a date for clean up. One way to get te city to respond is to mention rats.

In my neighborhood we have a homeowners association and the president of it will hear complaints from neighbors and tell the offending parties to clean up their act. If you don`t have one maybe you can suggest starting one. Also their should be some sort of city ordinance that could be in forced.I definitely would not approach these people as they obviously don`t respect you, and may harm you if their using drugs.

Check with your local code compliance office. There may be ordinances to prevent this type of junky yard. I live in a deed restricted neighborhood where this sort of thing is not tolerated. If this doesn't pan out, speak to them directly. If they are unwilling to clean up their act you may be better off to sell before the whole neighborhood is devalued.

relies upon on the guidelines on your section. extremely all human beings is to blame for their canines. vendors would desire to have one hundred% administration over their pets. have you ever talked on your landlord approximately this difficulty? I exceptionally doubt your canines replaced into "Getting revenge" some canines do unlike different canines or for some reason do exactly no longer in basic terms like the particular canines. My different question is do you and your landlord have your person backyard section off? Say you do. Say that its a 2 kin abode and nil.5 the backyard is fenced off. because you're renting it is your in my view area. That being mentioned no longer even the owner is aloud on your place or in that section off backyard without your permission. next time video tape the canines being unfastened. talk on your landlord & tell him/her which you have concerns touching directly to the canines. they are no longer getting alongside and there has been subject concerns in the previous which you want to avert. If that is going no the place i'd look extra into the guidelines on your section approximately renting what rights you will desire to your person area.
