I live in an upper middle class town. While most of the rest of town is huge 5,000 square foot homes, I live on a modest street. However, the average home price on my street is $400K-$500K for a 1200-1500 square foot home. Some people are middle class individuals w/ high schools or college aged, few are empty nesters and a majority are young working families w/ children.
Therefore, you can guess that everyone's home are very neat. The lawns are nicely maintained, flowers planted, the upkeeps of the homes themselves is nice.
However, about 1.5 year ago, I got new neighbors. With each passing month, their yard becomes dirtier and dirtier My driveway parrallels the side of their garage. On this side they have old night stands, broken kitchen chairs, an old TV, a few garbage cans filled, empty boxes, a broken bike. I can also see into the back of their yard, They house came w/ a swimming pool.

This is there second summer here. Neither this summer or last have they used or even cleaned the swimming pool. It's not covered and has old water in it. They also have a washing machine in their back yard. They rarely mow their grass.
It's also rumored that someone in the house has a drug problem. The cops have been there numerous times.
Their yard has been gross since Day 1, and it's getting worse.
I am not for approaching these individuals, b/.c they rarely leave the house.
But the garbage is an eyesore.
I don't have money for a fence and it's not really with the character of my house or the neighborhood. I don't want put one up.
We have huge privacy bushes, but you can still see the garbage through the srubs.
This is very uncommon for this neighborhood.
I hate to sound elitest, but I don't even know how these slobs can afford to live on our nice street.

It's an eyesore. I was thinking of selling my home. Prespective buyers are going to be concerned.

I brought up wealth, so you can picture the neighborhood. I didn't want people thinking this was a city or place where this might be a landlords fault. I was pointing out that people are neat and due to the price of homes, maintain them well. I'm making the point as the home is a status symbol here. So, people treat them like trophies.
Odd situation for this town.
