Is this true or not? I've gave up caffeine as my new years resolution and 2 days later I had no desire for it, I've also gave up alcohol 2 weeks ago, now I used to be a heavy binger for 10 years and again no problem so I'm not so sure about 21 days, If I give up smoking will I be off them after 21 days?

it takes 21 days to break a physical addiction completely....but habits can creep back in when you least expect them at any time in your life. It is just more likely during those first 21 days of abstinence. Congrats on getting off the booze.

Well doing a Yahoo search, I see 21 days throught the search. I would of guessed 28 or 32 - go figure. All I know is when you are trying to make or break a habit.... 21 days feels like forever.

Good For You Davidr but as for me it has taken a lifetime just to realize there was a problem or a habit ..call back in 21 days or years and let me know how your doing.I think it depends on each person individually..Some Can walk away from beast of burdens very easily .Then others have alot of problems doing it by their selfs. I,m happy for YOU though,Keep it up ~It sounds like You will over come in 'Whatever' You set your mind to do in life..'

I have heard it takes a good month to really change your direction on something. If it is food or drink, I think it takes that long for your body to get rid of the craving etc for it.
