I am a soon to be mormon. I am being baptized on Thursday. My suggestion to you is look up the number to you local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints number. They will send missionarys aka elders to you home to meet with you and explain the qualifications. If you decided that you are not interested just let them know. Most Elders will leave in peace. I can tell you being mormon involves following the Word of Wisdom and the commandments. the Elders will explain that to you. Keep in mind the Book Of Mormon does not replace the Bible. It is teaching tool. The other requirement is baptism my immersion. I hope this helps

You have to believe as we do. You ahve to accept that the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is the word of God; that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that you are willing to make sacred covenants with God to live a clean, chaste life, give back to the Lord what is the Lord's, etc.

Mormonism is a branch of Christianity, isn't it?
All you need to become a Christian is a willingness to love God and love others. This will gradually lead you to a personal relationship with Jesus.
Sorry to bother you, I guess that wasn't really what you were looking for, but that's all I know.

Doctrine and Covenants Section 20 verse 37
"And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them the name of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church. "
This is done by studying with missionaries, making and keeping commitments to live the gospel, having faith in the restored gospel, and repenting.

Meet with the Missionaries.
Study with them. There are 5 or 6 lessons that they'll give and discuss with you.
They'll encourage you to read a few things, and then pray to God to find out if what you've been studying is true or not.
If you feel that it is, continue learning, and set a Baptismal date.

i've got spent approximately 40 years in bishoprics, severe councils, and clerk positions, and that i've got seen numerous people bypass away the Church. i've got sat on numerous disciplinary councils. None of them left the Church because of the fact of "info" against the Church. There are some who in basic terms gradually flow away into state of no activity. specially circumstances it incredibly is as a results of a loss of religion, led to by doubts led to by some thing they have examine. certainly one of my brothers grow to be like that, even if he has for the reason that come back to Church. He did no longer prefer to tell me approximately his doubts because of the fact he had grow to be confident that there grow to be no answer to his doubts, and he did no longer prefer to burden me together with his doubts. it particularly is in basic terms too undesirable he did no longer confer with me, because of the fact there is often an answer. area of his situation nonetheless grow to be that he grow to be searching for a reason to no longer bypass on a venture, and "blindly" stick to the example of his older brothers. It grow to be in area a satisfaction difficulty. I also have a theory approximately people who bypass away the Church and declare it grow to be because of the fact of info. They fall into 3 communities. (a million) some are certainly at a loss for words by the arguments of adult adult males. (2) some seek for info the Church isn't actual, yet deep down they comprehend the real reason grow to be they have been offended or they felt responsible approximately their sins. (3) And others do no longer understand their own motives. In a psychology type I as quickly as took I heard of an exciting test concerning this 0.33 team. someone in yet another psychology type grow to be hypnotized and given a positioned up-hypnotic suggestion. The hypnotized pupil grow to earnings that as quickly as the instructor coughed the pupil might get up from his seat and open the window to the college room. He would not bear in mind something he grow to earnings while hypnotized. He grow to be then awaken from his hypnotic trance and informed to bypass back to his seat. the pupil remembered no longer something of what he grow to earnings together as hypnotized. the instructor after a couple of minutes coughed, and the pupil have been given up and opened the window. Now right it incredibly is the component to this tale. while asked why he opened the window his ideas immediately synthetic a reason. He suggested he grow to be warm, and unusually adequate his physique proved it by having crimson and sweaty.

I advise you to look to those who left, not those who blindly cling onto cultish behavior. Ask yourself why are there so many 'recovery form mormonism' sites and no recovery from Lutherans or Amish or Methodists places?
Boy, are you gonna be in for it if you follow through...
