The reason Slimfast works is because it has a set number of calories for each meal, so it helps you keep your daily intake of calories lower.
You can easily substitute any meal for the Slimfast and still lose weight IF you keep that meal to the same amount of calories that the Slimfast had.
For example: one of the Slimfast products has 225 calories, and you have been losing weight, if you then have a meal for 225 calories instead of the Slimfast you will lose the same amount of weight.
The reason that meal replacement products work is because they are totally portion controlled so the calories are always the same. If you were to have a breakfast of your own doing you may have 300 calories one day and 200 the next, unless you portioned out the food each time.
A good substitution for the Slimfast would be 1 serving of plain oatmeal, with a piece of fruit and a glass of skim milk. It will have around the same amount of calories but it would keep you full much longer and would probably lose more weight.

I use Slimfast, Atkins Shakes, and other protein drinks as meal substitutes. You can replace meals, such as lunch, also, you can drink them if you are hungry. I've lost close to 70 lbs, using these techniques, grazing instead of heavy meals. You don't have to stick to anything for life. I prefer Atkins shakes over Slimfast, they are thicker, more satisfying, and have one gram of sugar where Slimfast has 18grams. Slimfast advertises that it controls hunger for 4 hours, I haven't found that to be true. Atkins does a much better job of hunger control.
Good luck with you diet.

You can have it for breakfast and for lunch. For dinner, have a sensible dinner. Trans fat is what really puts on weight. Use olive oil to replace all your oil needs. Regular oils are bad for you. Microwave popcorn has oil-flavor butter that sticks to your stomach lining and is really bad for you over a period of time. In my opinion, have a well sensible breakfast, then a Slim Fast lunch lunch and a regular dinner. Don't forget the vitamin & minerals tablets in the morning. Even a fat burner tablet or two before dinner and you can skip the Slim Fast.

alternating with a sensible breakfast is a great idea. you won't lose weight as fast, but you will be healthier. Once you reach you goal, have one for breakfast once or twice a week to maintain.

sure, in case you certainly use it as a meal replace and combine that nutrition recurring with an excercise recurring. on the different hand, i does not advise narrow rapid by fact of numerous the components. Nestle's Carnation Breakfast is extra constructive, in my view.
