I personally think so. US admits more people in per year than any develop countries ( i think so). There are just so many categories of visas and lottery and everything for people to come in. Too easy for people to migrate. COuntries such as Australia, new zealand, singapore have one of the toughes immigration law in the world to climb over. I think they should make it more strick, what do you think?

Contrary to popular opinion, it is not that easy except for those who walk across the border. There are people who are waiting up to 18 years to be admitted legally. Just because they have the lottery does not mean bubkus. All it does is give the person the opportunity to be a permanent resident then they have to wait to get their visa number
You have no idea how many people are told they only need to wait 6 months, yet at the end of that waiting period they get a letter saying- you are approved BUT there is no number to give you so you have to wait-one that can take anywhere from a year to 22 years ( as is the case of a US citizen applying for grandparents or parents to come over from the Philippines. If that person wanted his parents here this year, they would have had to have filled out an application from 1985)

Oh, yes it is way too easy. We are letting in tens of thousands of Muslims every year, although we are at war with fanatical Muslims. We allow to many unskilled and uneducated to immigrate to our country every year, just because they have a relative legally residing in the US. We must severely limit "chain immigration" and replace it with a point system to evaluate potential immigrants.

We should accept fewer immigrants and make sure that the ones we let in are not Muslim, and that they have jobs skills or special knowledge that this country needs. How does the USA benefit from allowing parents of recent immigrants who are unskilled, can't speak English, and are often illiterate to come to our country. We should be importing the best and brightest, not the least and dullest.

When our Gov want to sell us our at every turn> wants to give amnesty to 20+ million illegals. We should stop all immigration for at least 5 yrs till we over haul the system & deport the illegals that are here.

well with terrorism and the growing problem of immigrants in the country, it will probably be harder to get into the country within a few years; hopefully it will change

I don't think it is that easy to do it legally. There are alot of papers and interviews, ect. The illegals are making it harder for legal immigrants everyday.

Mexicans don't think our immigration is too tough. Walk two days through the desert -- do it in the fall or early spring -- no big deal.
