To be told that you have the patience of Job is a great complement. Job is a man who went through trials and suffering,God allowed Satan to test Job in horrible ways & Job never gave up on his faith and love in the Lord. He lost his wife, his children his servants, his home , his land, his cattle. He lost everything. Then Satan cast illnesses( boils so bad he almost died) on him, Satan did all he could do to try to make Job turn against God and Job never, ever turned away from God. God rewarded Job a new wife and son's and daughters. God replaced all that Job had lost and God restored Job's health. No one in the Bible went through as much as Job did, yet Job remainded faithful as God knew that he would.

Patience Of Jobe

Jobe was a man in the bible that was persecuted beyond belief, yet his faith in God made him stand solid that he could handle anything the devil threw at him, and he went through alot. When someone says that to you, they are basically giving you a compliment that you can sure put up with a lot oc crap, and still have a positive outlook.....

That's Job, although it is pronounced Jobe.

It's from the Bible. God and Satan had a bet about Job and his faith in God. Satan said that if God did or allowed all sorts of hardships to befall Job then Job would loose faith in God. God bet that Job wouldn't. No matter how bad things ended up being for Job while he was unknowingly being tested by God, Job patiently saw it through, never wavering in his faith that all would eventually be right.

It means you are a very patient person. In the bible story, all Jobs animals & servants were taken from him, his family was killed, and he got boils all over his body, but instead of being angry with God, he praised Him. He's often the prime example of patience and integrity.

It means you are really patient.

I teach slow learners. It takes days and days and days and days to teach them one concept. Then they forget it the next day; you have to keep repeating it over and over and be calm. Try different methods, etc.

People tell me I have the patience of Job with my students.

it's Job. Read it, lazy girl. the only way to understand the message is to forego the "cliff notes" and read the story. there is no one here who can impress on you the trials of Job like the bible can.
