It's the weird Trinity concept again. I think it's something along these lines:
God is one, a whole, and Allmighty.
God has three parts within that whole - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (a sort of power on earth)
God came to Earth as Jesus, but Jesus was in man's form. It was like God putting himself in man's shoes, and hence he is the son of man, and the son of God.
That was why dying on the cross could be a sacrifice - because God gave himself up, through human suffering - if there hadn't been that human element, it couldn't have been true suffering - because surely God can't die?
It is a weird idea, I think it's widely regarded that Jesus is the son of God, but at the same time, is part of the Trinity, so part of God himself? Make any more sense at all?

God is a word used to describe the Trinity. There is one God with three persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. All are one God, yet seperate persons. It is a difficult concept to understand. When I was in Jr High, my bible school teacher asked us what water is and we answered H2O. She then asked what is ice? H2O. And what about steam coming from a pot of water on the stove? Well that is H20 also. All three are one and the same, yet have different physical beings. This was the best description I've ever gotten to compare the Trinity. I hope this helps and feel free to email me or IM if you want to discuss it further!

Its the whole Trinity thing..... I was a Mormon and they do not believe in the Trinity, or that Jesus is God, they believe that there are three separate entities, God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity just confuses things by saying that they are "one". My brain and heart couldn't accept this, so I started to look at other religious beliefs, I became an Atheist after all.

Jesus was the only person since Adam and Eve to be so closely connected to god, which makes him more closely related, so to speak.
If you, like me believe that God had a hand in our creation, no matter what your more specific theories are (I am actually an evolutionary), then we are all children of god, in a way. Jesus was just a man. He was not god, but god's representative.
This is where some people get confused. Jesus came because people are not capable of loving a god they cannot see or feel. Jesus came not only to spread a message of love to everyone, but to provide a way for people to love an intangible god. That is what your verse is talking about.
That is how we are saved.

No, Jesus is not his Father. They are separate individuals. No trinity.
As Matt. 24: 36 says, God knows some things Jesus doesn't know.
John 1:18 lets us know man can not see God but we have seen His son, Jesus.
Jesus even said his Father was greater than he was. (John 14:28) They were one in agreement. He always looked to glorify his Father's name in whatever he did.

It's not hard to understand. Look at it like this. An egg has three parts, The shell, the white and the yolk. It's one egg, but has three parts. So it is with God. God the Father, God the son, and God the Holly spirit.
I hope this helped, It has always worked for me.
God bless

Jesus is not God and He never said He was God
the false teachers teach He is God.
There is only one God, the most high living God of Israel
Jesus is the word of God.. John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Here is the Trinity explained.
First, we have to talk earthly things, We all also have a trinity..
My name is John, lets say we are at my house
and it is getting dusk and we are reading.
I John [ My identity ]
said [ the mind of John, on what I am going to say. ]
Athena, I am going to turn on the lights. [ Now, in order for you to hear me you must hear a voice modulation, is that voice modulation me yes and no, It was created by my mind. ]
So I turn on the lights that is my working force, you know I may say that and figure well,........ I will turn them on later..
My voice modulation and my working force are all in subjection to my mind.
So lets rehearse the creation of the earth.
God [ the most high living God of Israel ]
said [ the mind of God ]
Let there be light [ now that voice modulation is Christ, and in subjection to the most High God. ]
John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him
And there was light [ This is the Holy Spirit, thre working force of God, and God can repent and change his mind.
So the word The word made flesh, Jesus [ John 1:1-3 ]
and the working force, the holy Spirit are all in subjection to the mind of the most high God of Israel
And to prove He is not God, by first Jesus never said it and also said everything was from the Father..
Jesus was made Lord by God, until His enemies are put under His feet. Then Jesus to will return eveything to the Father and be in subjection to Him.
1Cor. 15: 24-28
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God,
even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under His feet.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him,
then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

God is your father as well.
God is the father of all creation, and his "son" Jesus Christ (a part of the Trinity) came to earth, because that was the only way he could, through a human body.
