If your Infinity system is in a Chrysler or Dodge vehicle, you only need to activate the Infinity amplifier. The factory harness includes an amp turn-on wire that can be connected to your new head unit's remote output wire to turn on the factory amp. This is usually the blue wire in a Chrysler wire harness adapter.

If you have an Infinity system in a different kind of vehicle, like a Mitsubishi, you may need to bypass the factory amplifier or use a different type of harness to integrate it with the new stereo.

In either case, it shouldn't be necessary to replace the speakers or do much re-wiring. Note that if you replace the stock speakers, you should bypass the factory amplifier.

The Infinity system needs an external amp (usually under the passenger seat) to work. Many of the speakers are 10 ohms, where the standard is 4.
You need to rip everythng out and start from square one to make it work.

They will most likely be a different impdence, check the labels/books for both. Some stereos can switch outputs.
