Dr. McCoy "bones',Captain Kirk, or Spock

I don't think one was any "cooler" than the other because they were a trio, three sides of the same person. Kirk represented action, Spock represented logic, and Bones represented emotion.

I'm sorry, I don't understand why you're bothering to ask this question. Everyone knows the answer is "Spock." Stop wasting valuable Yahoo!Answers space with worthless questions!!! :-)

Spock was the first TV character to embody what I think is an important philosophical concept-- that humans have the capability to use their logic and overcome their emotions. I know Spock isn't human, but his race is clearly an analogy of what humans COULD be-- after all, Vulcans and the emotional Romulans developed from the same race-- therefore the Vulcans took a path that Humans are capable of taking. Spock looks at things logically that humans often take an emotionally or morally skewed view on-- and take that view for granted.

I watched Star Trek when I was very young-- in elementary school-- and Spock immediately became my favorite character and has had a big impact on my personality and the way I approach and view life. I DO try to take our illogical human customs, emotions, and beliefs and look at them from a detatched, logical viewpoint. I try to conduct myself in a way in which my decisions are governed by logic and practicality, rather than emotions. (but I won't hesitate to joke and laugh!!! But, by thinking about WWSD (what would spock do), I'm able to pull myself out of bad moods and negative thinking quickly.)

In a way it's also resulted in some negative aspects-- for example, I have little patience for people whose problems are purely due to emotions and are incapable of seeing the logical solution (for example, girls crying over a boyfriend situation.)

Star Trek was truly a frontier for Mankind, introducing to the public ideas that were not widely enough contemplated. Spock's series-long character study was a triumph. Kirk is a fine action character/ commander, and McCoy is a very human character, and I personally enjoy Scotty's personality (especially when he reveals the secret to being a "Miracle Worker,) but none of them approach the revolutionary character of Spock.

Plus... VULCAN DEATH GRIP!!!!!!

Spock, of course. Dr. McCoy isn't that cool. But least, I'd have to say the Captain. I think he has coolness poison. It drains his coolness. So dorky! Can you tell, I like that word?

Risking a Star Trek old generation-new generation war, I think Piccard is cooler than Kirk.

Its obviously a matter of personal opinion, but I liked Spock the best. Everyone needs to have some logic.

Kirk by far...he's the boss, gets the chicks(even alien ones) and he always outsmarts or beats up the bad guys.

Gotta be kirk.

Not to mention he's now morphed into "Denny Crane" !

Spock. He had no physical emotions, but he cared for others. Isn't caring an emotion?

I loved Spock's detached manner, his dry sense of humor, and his penchant for understatement.

I guess that's one reason I liked Data in TNG.

Kirk. He was the original space cowboy as far as I'm concerned.
