If your cat can get the collar up over her jaw and into her mouth then the collar is too loose. Try tightening it a little bit and give your cat some time to get adjusted to it. Hope this helps.

If she can get her lower jaw stuck into it, it's too loose! Some cats will actually get their leg stuck through it as well, which is very dangerous.
Check to see if you can get one finger comfortably under it. And check it weekly, their necks grow as they get older, you don't want it too tight either. A soft leather collar feels better to them than a stiff one, the type of collar may be the problem as well.
If she still has a hard time, how about getting a figure 8 harness instead and put the bell on that? Some cats are find with a harness, others with a collar.

Try Beasti Bands collars. Beasti Bands are foam collars secured with Velcro. They are great and safe for kitty . Some of my cats don't like collars, but tolerate Beasti Bands.

It takes some time for a kitten to get used to wearing a collar. My suggestion is to leave it on her all the time, and when you see her fighting it, redirect her attention. Pick her up, love on her, play with her, divert her attention away from the fact that she's wearing a collar.
Hope this helps. :)

Give her time. It takes a while for cat to get used to a collar. Try not to adjust it too tight nor too loose that she can shrug it off.
Try your best to keep her inside; you'll have to look for her everytime you go to the door and remind company you have a cat that likes getting out.

You have to give her some time to get use to it. It shouldn't be to tight and not to loose that she can get her jaw stuck in it. You should be able to get three fingers in with no trouble between the collar and the cats neck.

There is this new microchip that they put under the animal's skin and a dector will scan for it if the cat gets lost. Non- painful and no more collars.
