I really want to know, what exactly do people feel will be accomplished when this great "burden" is lifted!
I will share my opinion after the best answer is chosen

Please no blanket answers
I do not want ot know what we will save in tax dollars because even after illegal immigrants are deported or whatever I will still personally have more compliants about how when and where my tax dollars are spent.
I want to know how will we each individually benefit!

Let's start in the inner cities.
Gang violence will go down.
The schools will be far less overcrowded (providing a far better education environment).

Drug trafficing will go down. (and in turn, the cost of enforcement)

Approximately 20% of the federal prison population will be GONE.

Jobs will open all over the market, allowing many of the unemployed to find work.

Wages for the working poor will increase, since they will no longer be competing for jobs with people who are willing to work for $3 per hour.

Healthcare costs will decrease, since illegals won't be constantly going back to the emergency room whenever they need to treat a case of the sniffles.

An immediate rise in the standard of living, which has been steadily declining as the level of illegal immigration has risen, through an end to the suppression of wages caused by their being here.

A necessary increase in the mechanization of the agricultural sector, ultimately resulting in higher production and lower consumer prices as was the case in the South after the abolition of slavery.

Minimizing the impact on OUR culture by backwards, third-world cultures. This would include (but is not limited to) stemming the reintroduction of diseases that had been successfully eradicated in the past.

Realignment of political priorities.

Increased national security.

Preservation of a common language, necessary for the efficient function of government and distribution of information (of all kinds) for the benefit of all.

And on, and on...

My taxes will not be wasted on non Americans, Gang violence will be reduced, no more fraud or identity theft for securing jobs illegally, and I will sleep better knowing that the people in my country are of this country. None of us like to be threatened by the groups coming to "take over" our country by sheer numbers. None of this had to happen, it was a simple choice to come legally and want to become an American. That's not too much to ask of anyone in our country. If you expect to reap the benefits, you need to follow the laws of our nation.

crime will go down, the hospitals wont be so over crowded, gas prices will go down because the illegals wont be driving without insurance i might add. taxes will go down. price of food might go up short term but if i pay more in taxes and get cheaper food prices, is that really such a good deal?

Well for one a tax bill of about $40 billion less annually. That is a conservative estimate of the cost of illegal aliens to the US taxpayer taking ALL factors into consideration -- pluses and minuses.

PS Edit:

On YA, you ask a question and you get answers. You get to choose a Best Answer. You do NOT, however, get to tell me or others HOW to answer.

Just how it works chickie-dee. Reciprocity abounds.

But PPS--I will PERSONALLY and INDIVIDUALLY benefit by having more of my hard earned income for me and my family--I'm working for us, not for the illegals!

Each low skilled illegal family costs the American tax payer 1.1 million over its lifetime. Multiply that by the number of illegals.

I would love to know as well. It is not as if these " illegals" are taking high paying jobs away from us. That is being done by our very own corporations when they send our jobs overseas so they can pocket high profits which really don't get passed on to the consumer just lines the fat cats pockets.

I guess the benefit will be that the people who have had their jobs outsourced and are now having to scramble and take 2-3 job lower paying jobs to make up for the loss of that one job will have more scraps to choose from

We already saw what happened with the " crackdown" on them " damn illegals" Orange juice futures went up on the stock market. Who benefited- rich investors who can afford to invest in the stock market
Those who lost out- owners of orange groves in FL and CA who saw their crops rot on the trees and saw that orange juice prices have gone up and the demand go down. I am sure they are looking for the support of all of those people who want illegals out on the next airplanes- waiting and hoping some of them would volunteer to help get their crops to market because they really cannot afford to pay much.

Dear Mr. President,

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family, and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few arrangements. I know you can help with this. Because I only expect to be in Mexico long enough for my children to get a quality free education (or until they want to have children), I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.

2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.

3. All government forms need to be printed in English.

4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.

5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.

6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.

7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and lunch.

8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.

9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any effort to learn local traffic laws.

10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.

12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.

13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might place on the economy. I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.
