i mean its money that is just sitting there.

No. But its as tasteless as supporting illegal immigration and the Bush/Kennedy Amnesty!

Actually it is illegal to take the change. Once the money is thrown into the fountain, it becomes the property of the fountain owner. Unless someone becomes a nuisance though, it's probably unlikely that the fountain owner is going to prosecute.

As a general rule, the money that's in a public fountain belongs to the government entity that owns the fountain. If the fountain is on private property, then the money in it belongs to the property owner. Either way, it's usually given to a charitable cause, so unless you desperately need money, leave it there for someone who DOES.

no it's not illegal but you aren't supposed to "expose the water to the oils on your skin" and no part of your body can be IN the water at any time.
