well the first thing that you should have done was take her to the vet (of course) and then wait to see what happened.
next you should have started working on you feelings of guilt. you have to realize that it's not your fault. accidents do happen. it was an honest and innocent mistake and i know this bc you obviously feel badly about it or you wouldn't be posting this question hoping for good advice in return that would make you feel better about what you did. this reminds me of a time when i was cutting out the knots in my dogs fur. i came to the spot underneath her ear and there was this huge knot. it was so bad that i could hardly tell where it began and ended so i tried to cut it as best i could but then i realized that i had made a terrible mistake when she started bleeding. i had accidentally cut her skin bc i thought it had been part of the knot of hair and couldn't see the difference. i felt so bad..i cried too (i don't think my dog felt it though bc she never whimpered). it took me days before i started to feel like it was ok to forgive myself. i had to tell myself that it wasn't my fault. i was only trying to help her and it was an accident. you too must realize what happened was not your fault. you didn't do it on purpose and it's going to be ok. you'll make mistakes in life, it will happen. this is an inevitable part of living and growing up but you've got to try your best to get something out of each experience. take this one for example and from now on i'm sure you'll be more careful around kittens and maybe even other things like infants bc this has taught you how easily something can go wrong.
just don't beat yourself up over this. it's not your fault. you can't take back what happened even though you want to and it'll all be ok. don't worry, things always work out in the end..i promise [my dog doesn't resent me for what happened ;) ]

Is your kitten still alive? If so, take it to a vet right away!
If your kitten is dead, then I am sorry for what happened. Now you know what to watch for. They can be quick sometimes and we need eyes in the back of our heads. Why don't you get another kitten to love? In time, you will forgive yourself for what was really an unfortunate accident. Sometimes, things just happen. Obviously, you feel terrible about what happened so don't go punishing yourself forever. Try to learn from it all and find another kitten who needs you.

Accidents happen. You cannot bring your kitty back any better than I can bring the two I had to put to sleep due to incurrable diseases. You will mourn for a while as with anything you love and lose. The best treatment is get a replacement kitty that you can love even better than you loved this little kitty. The best way to love a kitty is to keep it indoors. There are several benefits for this. 1. indoor kitties live twice as long as outdoor kitties do. 2. there are fewer diseases and pests to have to contend with when your kitty is safe behind walls that don't allow those diseases and pests to come in and attack them. 3. There are less ways for the kitty to get into trouble like getting run over or being attacked by dogs or stolen by outsiders as well as what happened to your kitty. My friend closed her automatic garage door on her kitty and left the house. She came back and found it dead under the door. Cats don't know any better because they follow their masters and they love to investigate anything that moves or makes noise. It's best to keep them in a kitty safe environment where they can stay healthy and happy. Our kitties even have their own kitty safe bedroom where they live when we are not at home. That way they are protected from their own investigative habits. The rest of the home is kitty proofed, just like when our children were small, it was baby proofed to protect them. Examples: all cords are covered with cord covers and are also unpluged when not in use and the outlets are covered with insert caps. Cats get electricuted from chewing cords. All appliances are unpluged too since you cannot always keep cats from investigating the cupboards and especially sticking their paws into things like toasters. All extra doors to rooms like bathroom and bedrooms are just closed when we are not in them. All cupboards have child proof locks on them if they contain food or chemicals. Another way to help you get over the accident you caused to your kitty is to become involved with spreading the news out there on pet safety. There are a lot of organizations to join and volunteer in including ASPCA which I am a member of. When you help others not make the same mistakes you have done, it helps you feel better. I am sorry for your loss. I believe you will never do that again. Right?

Please take your kitten to the vet if you have not already done so. Sounds like the poor little thing needs medical attention ASAP.
Cats are very forgiving creatures. Just remember it was an accident and could've happened to anyone.
