Depends on the breed. You shouldn't wash your dog more that once a week max, unless they get into something. When you do you should use shampoo for the type of coat they have, conditioner is a must, and use tearless baby shampoo on their head. If you need more help feel free to contact me, I would like to know what breed of dog you have so I could be more helpful.

What kind of dog is it? Some dogs have very little odor and need washing occasionally. Others needs bathing every couple of weeks. Often times, a good brushing is all that's needed unless the dog has a noticeable odor.

We give my dogs a bath once a month then right after they get their flea and tick and heartgurad medicine. But keep it to at most once a month because a bath drys out the skin. Too many baths could hurt them. Good Luck!

I wash my dog about once a month. I mean, if he's dirty or starting to smell like he needs a bath I'll give him one. But i don't think you should do it too too often because the soap and stuff can harm their skin and then their hair gets all coarse and dry, because that happened with our last dog.

It depends...what kind of dog do you have? Bathing too frequently could cause dry skin and lead to scratching. I usually take my one very furry lab/chow mix to the groomer about once a month, and my lab barely ever gets a bath, unless he goes swimming or rolls in mud. It's up to you...if your dog is dirty or smelly, then obviously wash him, but otherwise every few weeks or every month or so is probably sufficient! Don't forget...dogs clean themselves where it's important ;)

YOU PEOPLE BATHE YOUR DOG TOO MUCH. Only bathe your dog once every month or two. washing your dog too much stripe the dog's coat and skin of it;s natural oils and the hair will start to thin and your dog will be more prone to skin conditions etc. So, only bathe your dog once a month or two. And if he gets dirty between baths. Spot clean, Grab wipes or a wet wash cloth and wash the dirty part of him that way.

Dogs do not need baths, dog owners need for the dogs to be bathed. If its smell bothers you, give it a bath. If it is dirty and does not clean itself, give it a bath. I have never given one of my dogs a bath. I have a 9 year old Chi/Rat Terrier that has had a few baths in his life because my daughter or grandson said he needed one and they did it. I have a Beagle, 4 years old, that has never had a bath. The only one that gets bathed regularly is my APBT, every month or two, because of allergies. When she starts scratching she gets a bath. My grandson does it, it is his dog, well not really, and he lives with me. They get brushed and that is all. They are happy, healthy and do not smell. They are house dogs and sleep on my bed. If they smelled they would be in the tub.

it depends on the breed some dogs don't need baths very often you should ask your vet or if you take your dog to a groomer sometimes they might tell you how often to bath your dog. I used to give my dog a bath about once a month because otherwise if you give them a bath to often there skin gets dried out.

You can bathe a dog at least once a week. I would however, go with waiting longer to bathe. Most dogs keep clean by their natural oils in their fur. Brushing them alot can also help keep them clean. If you bathe too often you will strip the dog of it's natural oils and that can lead to skin problems. In all reality dogs don't need a bath all that often. Bathing too often can also casue a dog to have that "typical dog smell." My shep. mix never had that "dog smell" until I had to bathe him because he got into something really smelly. Brushing him 3 times a week kept him clean with his natural oils.

I have indoor dogs and I like for them to smell fresh and clean. I bathe them weekly and in between spray a doggy deodarizing spray. My groom and vet say any more often would be harmful, as it removes their natural oils that protects their hair, and glands. Since dogs do not sweat, their painting and body oils protect them from over heating.
