Your parents passed something onto you that has survived for probably thousands of years
You have the choice to pass it on to your children
Unless you are sure that God exists or does not exist
Pass on the information so that your child has the right to judge for himself if it is dumb or not
Because you think its dumb you would not be able to pass it on ,so ask an older member of the family who understands the need of religions in mankind so your children may evolve and be enlightened.
I assume we all know right from wrong and so we should pass on what is good and does good in any of the worlds religions.
When the world is mature enough to face reality without religion then and only then may you discontinue the chain.
In my view we are very far and getting further from humanity while getting closer to resembling a virus with no humanity.
Only in my humble opinion

Depends on what the religion is and where you live. For example, when the Taliban ruled Afghanistan, for a man to deny his religion was punishable by death. Someone there would be advised to leave before denying the religion.
But in most countries, most religions are not so oppressive, so you can change your religion or become an atheist. That's what I did. My kids were not raised in any faith. That was replaced by secular values that make them indistinguishable from any other good people, religious or otherwise.
You must do what your conscience AND reason dictate. Let your children choose what they will believe. You can start them out tabula rasa so they can make decisions unbiased by the assertions and blind faith of their ancestors. Set them free. Let them choose.

If you dont believe in the religion then find one that you do believe in, when you have kids teach your kids about all the religions available and when they fully understand them they can tell you what they want to believe in because they realise that the faith they chose is the one that speaks most to their soul. Religion shouldnt be something that is passed down from generation to generation, and it shouldnt be forced upon kids either. Every child should be given an education for all religions so that they understand each faith and know what is right for them. Support your kids in the faith they choose for themselves and you will keep them happy because they knew you cared enough about them and trusted them enough to decide what their soul believes and that you support them in their choices. A good way to educate them in alot of religions is to take them to a Unitarian Universalist Sunday School, there they will learn things on many faiths especially what each faith believes and your kids will be able to eventually make the choice for themselves.

Parents can't "give" you a religion. They can steer you to their religion and religious beliefs, but when you grow up enough to decide for yourself, you either accept or reject their beliefs. You may or may not find some other religion that expresses your beliefs. If you truly believed your parent's "dumb religion" you would want to try to steer your kids that way, if not, you should be steering them to your beliefs. Just remember, they may think yours is dumb too.

once you're a newborn you hear on your father and mom. once you boost into an person you're anticipated to apply your concepts. At 18 learn the Bible and different literature or regardless of and are available to a decision what you think of isn't a dumb faith. To be a dumb faith because of the fact your father and mom are is incredibly extremely dumb. Then to bypass that on your little ones is unforgiveable. tell them at 18 come to a decision what faith you want to be. it is somebody anyone has to do for himself.

NO!!!! That is something that you should decide. I personally gave my daughter the same religion as me but more so just so she has a religion to learn about and then as she gets older if she would like to switch to something that is realistic and not something like Scientology then I would be all for it.
But I do think that all kids should learn some kind of religion to guide them better!

Your question about religion is so fatigue.
Life isn't about religion..it is about your relationship with God.
Get over the religion deal and get right with God.
Spend time in His word and talk to Him.

Religion is a choice, not embedded into the DNA, if you think it's dumb why do it? Your kid can always "join the club" once he's grown up.

You're free to choose whichever religion you want. Sure, it may be a little hurtful to them if you choose a different path, but you shouldn't carry on with a religion that you aren't happy with.
