Like making fun of? Or just acting like them? And this depends on the behavior your imitating. It's best to be yourself and not try to be like someone else anyway.

They say that Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but it depends on how it is done. There are people who do it as a put down and that is NOT right. And there are some people who go overboard and become the person they are imitating which is also not good. So as you see it depends on how and how much it is done. I enjoy putting on an Irish accent and pretending that I am Irish, but that is because I admire the culture and language. I do not BECOME them nor am I doing it in a malicious was. I do hope that I do it right and am pleased when someone asks where in Ireland I am from. That means I am doing a good imitation. But I am still me and I don't take it to extremes.

it depends, how far or extreme this imitating goes and who is doing it.if your a toddler, that's normal or any child for that matter. we all imitate what our parents do, that's where the expression your just like your mother or father came from. we blend them in with our own personality hopefully. i think if your an adult though it's kinda weird. i guess if your only imitating positive stuff to improve yourself (that's if you think you need improving) then that's cool. but if it's to poke fun of someone or because you wish you were that person, then you definitely have some unhealthy issues and should seek help!☺

If it is someone close to you, and they have a sense of humor, it doesn't hurt. However it depends how you imitate the person, and who you imitate that hurts.
Your best bet for clean imitations are to celebrities and people in the high marks.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, if you are trying to emulate someone. However, imitation to make fun of someone is just mockery. Thus the answer is - both, depending on how/why the imitation is done.

Imitation is the best form of flattery - or something like that. However, imitating Jeffery Dahmer wouldn't be good. Also, I think too much imitation stifles creativity.

What do you mean by imitate?

Aping them for the purpose of mocking them? Burying your own personality to adopt all of their characteristics? Or trying something new that someone else has already adopted?

It depends on what it means for the person doing it. After all, we reach adulthood by copying our caregivers and the cues society gives us, so aren't we all imitators?

Imitating someone isn't that good because people won't know the real you so be yourself you're probably a lot cooler then the person you're copying

I think it is good to imitate good qualities, morals, character but not bad ones.

It depends on the action behind the imitation...is it to mock or to flatter?
