Just how far are you willing to go for your new fad “going green” Are you willing to send the US economy into a depression as in the 20’s with millions out of work, and in food lines? Are you ready to sacrifice your computer, you home’s a/c system, your automobile? Are you ready to pay 10, 20, even 30% more for food due to limited shipments as well as accepting far fewer varieties of fruits and Vegs, for the sake of not using trucks to haul these items across country? Are you willing to do without items made from oil, including all products made of plastic, items like you computer, your water bottles, your ipod, your blackberry, your TV, your kitchen appliances, your cell phone. Let’s not be hypocritical, CA and Fl “roll back greenhouse emissions to the level of 2000” whoop de do, If it was destroying the world in 2000 what good is that? If you think that our behavior is destroying the world, what are you willing to give up.

Because “cutting back” wont do it, 100 people putting 20 lbs. of Greenhouse gas year into the atmosphere is no worse that 300 people putting out 15lbs of ghg a year, and we all know the population is just getting bigger and bigger, so the true solution is not a roll back but a cutoff. Alternative fuels DO NOT EXIST, you can sing the praises of them all you want, you house does not have enough roof space for the solar panels it would take just to run your lights, forget about a water heater, or range. Wind? You don’t want the towers on the coast, the mountains, or the flatlands so where and even then that is less than 1% of the power produced. So where are you going to get your power? And lastly, if the rest of the developing world china, India, Asia, says to go to hell we will do what we want, does that affect your wiliness to set our nation back 150 years?

I want to be just like that jackass, Al Gore. Go around telling everybody how they have to cut back on everything they use, scare us all into believing that global warming will have all the people in the middle of the country owning ocean front land in a few years, and buy Carbon Credits from underdeveloped countries so you appear to be doing something about the environment, but are actually consuming 3 times the normal amount of energy the average small town uses in a year. Al Gore uses more electricity in his house monthly than 10 average households anywhere in the country. He consumes more electricity heating his pool than you do for everything you consume electricity for in a full year. Look into this for yourself ... it's true. He's a world class hypocrite! The biggest mouth and proponent for going green is blacker than coal.

Personally, I think global warming is due to the size of the AIDS quilt they made a few years ago ... it makes everything so hot! I like things the way they are ... I'm not changing anything. In fact, I'm starting to waste more than I normally do just to help the polar ice caps to melt faster. The sooner they are gone, the sooner the ocean will rise and the shorter my drive will be to get to the beach! Leave the 'changes' to posers like that idiot Al!

People don't need to go to extremes.

There are many many ways to help the environment. If people simply were thoughtful, and did the ones that fit their lives, we'd be a lot better off. The government could deal with the biggest issues by requiring better cars and power plants.

And, if you think that the cost of doing something about global warming is too much, it's insignificant compared to the costs of not doing something about it.

That would lead to a worldwide economic depression that would make the 1930s look like good times. Nations like China and India are coming to realize that.

We can get past this problem. The solution is very affordable and would not wreck our lives (as unreduced global warming would). Here's the plan:

How far are you willing to go to ruin our environment? Some sacrifices need to be made but not to the point that you suggest. Everyone can drive less and walk more, for example. How that will lead to a depression is beyond me. The Great Depression of 1929 had nothing to do with going green. Don't try to confuse the issue.

Your penetrating insight has convinced me that it is better not to do anything, that it is better not to care, and that in the end profitability is the only standard by which we should shape our relationship with the world.

You've done an inestimable service.

Hope you make lots of money. Have a great day!

Global warming is a scam to raise prices and increase tax. There is no great amount of green house gas that is a lie. CO2 is taken care of by plants as GOD intended it to be. The amount of green house gas is 1.1% . Oxygen and n itrogen is at there normal levels.

If it's green and saves me money then I'm all for it. If it cost me money then I would have to say no thank you.
