My cat is nine and he's very healthy. But when I pick him up, and scratch him behind his ear, he starts purring and then when I put him down, there are wet spots on my t-shirt. Help!

Has he always drooled when he's happy?
If so, it's perfecly normal. My little one does the same thing. He leaves big ole wet spots on my bed!
If this isn't a regular thing, a vet visit is in order as drooling can signify a mouth injury or a possible poisoning.
If he's only doing it when he purrs though, I'm betting that's normal.

Cats may look and act healthy on the outside but they are masters at hiding sicknesses. When was his last checkup? He is around 55 years old in human years so he may even have some dental problems brewing. Get him a good vet checkup. It isn't normal for any feline to druel, no matter what age. Hope that helps.

Yep. Some cats do that. Roger, the office cat at the vet hospital where I work, goes out and visits everyone in the waiting room. He is such a notorious drooler when he's being petted that we keep a stack of hand towels on the counter so people can protect their clothes.

I had a cat that was a drooler. It's normal, just get's kinda gross sometimes!!! Talk to your vet and see if they can offer any advice for you.

I don't think it's anything serious, but if you think it's real bad, notify your vet or something. Cat's don't show signs of sickness, so sometimes, you just have to watch how they change.

Some cats are just droolers. My sister had one.
