I recycle. There are not deposits on cans or bottles where I live, so I put them out on recycling day for the town to take away to sell. Any money the town makes would lower my taxes

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger passed legislation (AB 3056) to increase California Refund Value in the following calendar year. Effective January 1, 2007, recycling centers pay consumers 5 cents for containers less than 24 oz. and $.10 for containers 24 oz. or more. Redemption Value (the deposit customers pay at retail purchase), however, will remain $.04 and $.08 (respectively) through July 1, 2007. If the recycling rate has not reached 75% by this time, Redemption Value will also increase to $.05 and $.10. In other words, for the first half of 2007, consumers can enjoy a refund rate higher than the deposit rate.

I recycle. It gets me though that so many don't. I'll continue to do it, because I know its the right thing to do. Just a little while ago, I took a couple of gabage bags full of cans to the store. I always rinse them out with water before I throw them in the bag. However they are in the garbage bag so long, they collect moisture. The lady didn't think they were clean at first. Oh, my goodness!

I recycle everything, bottles, cans, plastic. I wash everything out first. I do take it to the recycling places. I also compost. I do container gardening and grow my own tomatoes, carrots, zuchhini, corn on the cob (just 4 because I wanted to see if they would grow in a container) radishes, lettuce, figs, etc.

for cans and plastic, i either put it in the recycling bin or give it to scavengers trying to make money to put food on the table. for the glass bottles, i would sometimes keep them for reuse or just recycle them

I recycle everything that can be recycled, I also compost. However, I don't take them to redemption to get money back. So I don't get my money's worth..

I recycle. I re-use large 1.5 litre plastic bottles that hold water. I buy crystal light and use it at work.
