I have two female cats, and both are pregnant. They are sisters, as they came from the same litter. They never fought before, except for one time while in heat. They attack eachother when ever one goes near the other, and they also fight over who pets them. Any Help?

end the combating. The cats can improve abscesses that can kill them if left untreated. The pregnant cat should be separated from the others. If that's not conceivable, use a water bottle to interrupt up fights.. yet while it comes time to have the kittens, you rather ought to save the different cats away. It does not harm to initiate preparing for this now so as that they are going to all get used to the hot association before there are kittens in contact.

I use to have a cattery. The rule of thumb for pregnant queens is to keep them apart while they are pregnant and nursing. Queens will take another queens babies after the birth of their own if the the other queen has no milk or dies at birth or has too big a liter and the other queen has a tiny liter but for the most part, queens do best apart. They are vying for territory and a place to build their den for their babies at this time and do not want any rivals. Other pregnant queens in their territory can mean trouble for their kits when born or inadiquate romping space for their kits. They are defending their territory. Separate them until the kits are born and have been nursing at least until the eyes of the kits are all open. That is the best for everyone. Hope that helps.

okay most cats are very protective off their young and if they are fighting it is because they are fighting for the rights of who gets more food for their kittens, best and safest place in the house for them to stay and with of the kittens will be dominate when it grows up it is usually determined at a Young age.

Poor things...they really need extra comfort now. Maybe one person can sit and pet one and another person can play with the other. They are giving birth and don't have a clue what is hormonally going on with their little systems.

when cats fight it's normally a territory thing, unless they feel threatened by someone. They are trying to establish who's the boss.

The only reason i can think of your cats fighting is they want to protect their young. They may feel over crowed.Try separating them into their own spaces
