I have a problem understanding how someone who kills a child or is a child molester is allowed to go to Heaven as long as they repent and are baptized. I would like some serious answers. I believe in God but there are some things I don't understand.

God's forgiveness is His grace for all Christians who repents and amends their lives.

Forgiveness is not only for those who have great sins but also for small sins. Great or small, they are still sins, and they must not be compared according to intensity.

The difference however, lies in the amendment of the sins. The greater the sins, the greater sacrifice must be made for the sinner to be able to make up for his mistakes to God. Sacrifice comes in the form of fasting, prayer, giving alms, offering all good works and intentions to God, and to avoid all sin and all temptations.

Fact is: if we're not able to make up for the damage that our sins caused, then, when we die, we still won't go to heaven, but we still have to be purified in Purgatory which is equally as fiery as hell, except that there are no demons there.

Concrete example of this is the life of some saints. Some of the saints were once terrible people, adulterers, drunkards, and all those stuff. But when they turned to God and did everything for God, by God's grace, they were able to make up for everything and went straight to heaven after they died.

The real issue is that you see sin in degrees, while God doesn't. To Him, the gossip is as evil as the killer.

Here's what He said about this:

"Not even one person is righteous. No one understands. No one searches for God. All have turned away. Together they have become worthless. No one shows kindness, not even one person! Their throats are open graves. With their tongues they practice deception. The venom of poisonous snakes is under their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Ruin and misery mark their ways. They have not learned the path to peace. There is no fear of God before their eyes." (Romans 3:10-18)

The difference between the killer who trusts Christ alone for salvation and the gossip who does not, is that the killer has seen the depths of his depravity, while the gossip thinks that they're "not as bad" as the killer, when the opposite is true.

Jesus spoke about this. He said, "You have heard that it was said to those who lived long ago, 'You must not murder,' and 'Whoever murders will be subject to punishment.'" (Matthew 5:21)

He then went further, by speaking about the motives in the heart: "But I say to you, anyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be subject to punishment. And whoever says to his brother 'Raka!' will be subject to the Council. And whoever says 'You fool!' will be subject to hell fire." (Matthew 5:22)

It's all about intent. The same intent you have when you are angry, can result in murder. The same impetus is there for both, and thus are equally sinful in God's eyes.

As someone already mentioned, repentance by the killer means a complete change of heart. They no longer kill or molest. But, if the gossip continues in their sin, and never receive the gift of God which is available to all, they will have to face the Judgment without an Advocate, and have to present whatever righteousness they have on their own. And God will not be impressed.

A very interesting question...and there are lots of questions similar to this, such as, "if there was a God, why do we have suffering and death, etc".
God is NOT going to allow people like child molesters and killers to "repent" at that last moment before death. God is a loving God, BUT a person such as this, must truly be sorry, before God will accept them into His plan of Salvation. That does not always happen before their death. If they die, with these horrible sins not having been repented of, they will someday be resurrected, and given a chance to follow Christ. They will learn what God wants them to know, they will live following the path that Christ showed us, and....if they repent and become baptized into Christ, they wil be saved .If after learning God's true ways, they still choose to disobey God, they will be put to death, burned up completely, just as if they never existed. That is the truth on this subject, from the Bible.

Only God knows a persons convictions of the heart. He will judge whether that person who took the life of another is worthy of heaven or not.

We can not judge those that have done wrong out of anger or evil doings. God also says that if anyone hurts His little ones that it is better that a millstone be hung around their necks and tossed into the ocean, than to face the penalty for doing such a deed.

God is just and perfect in all His ways and I believe that He makes all the right decisions when it comes to things like this.

Sometimes we see things through our own eyes and not the eyes of GOD. To us a child molester is an abomination which is perverting the natural use of our bodies to recreate and become one with another. But we look at the teenager or adult that practices date rape as less evil. I have seen child molesters try to justify their crimes by saying it is just another form of sexual fetish and that their victims enjoy it. This is a hard pill to swallow but where do we draw the line as a society? I know where I draw the line. GOD's law. Tex Watson is a convicted and self confessed murderer who did things that were to horrible to even rewrite here. He will be in prison for the rest of his life. He is a Christian now and leads countless people back home to GOD through Jesus Christ. We make up our own personal morals and then condemn others that do things we don't, then we sin sin sin and point the finger at others and say "Look what they are doing?"
Hope that helps.

You need the mind of God to understand these things. Philippians 2:5

God is full of mercy and love. His wish is that all would accept him. Sin is sin. All and every sin will send a person to hell. Is there a greater sin? Yes, Blasphemy. All other sins shall be forgiven if the person who has done them sincerely asks for forgiveness and never does it again. Repenting.

God is love. He's ready to forgive ALL who call on him.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You might want to specify your religious denomination or ask your Pastor, since "being baptized" might have different connotations in different faiths.
In the Catholic Faith, being baptized means to be accepted as God's child, as oppossed to God's creature; therefore, you are not held accountable for your sins if you are not baptized. Nonetheless, catholics are usually baptized when they are infants.
As far as repenting goes, you have to remember that repenting means to turn your life around and away from sin, but in reality, only God can forgive our sins and we will find out when the time comes. This is why catholics do not believe in being "saved", only God guarantees paradise.

First, you have to remember that the person who does these things actually allowed themselves to be influenced by the devil & let him carry out the terrible act. How many of these people actually truely repent - that's a 100% turning away from the sins they commit - not sure - but its more than just saying a prayer & being baptized - ultimately, God is the judge- who really only knows their hearts - we on the other hand, have to let go of the unforgiveness & hardness of heart that can happen. Look at Joyce Meyers - she is a well known Christian speaker- who was abused when she was young - yet - she came to forgive these people.

The hardest part to understand is what is meant by repenting. It sounds like so many words. Am I sorry for many things I've done in my life? Sure, I'm sorry. Really sorry. I've apologized to people. I've repented.

That's not it. True repentence means that what you have done becomes so grievous to you that your heart breaks because of it. You get a glimpse of how much Christ suffered becasue of what you did, and it breaks your heart - forever. It's excruciating to face yourself in that way, but that's what true repentence means. Words cannot describe how painful it is, yet it brings a kind of joy never before imagined. It also changes every aspect of your life. Your happiness will derive from not doing sin and your relationship with God.

God will judge us and I have no right to guess who will be saved and who will not. But I'm going to be very surprised if a whole lot of people who committed atrocities reached the kind of heartbreak I tried to describe. But if they did, it is because God gave them the grace to do so.

That's because no one actually deserves to go to heaven through their own merit since everyone is a sinner, so it's more a testament of God's forgiveness than a boast of the offender's goodness. Also, repentance isn't simply giving lip service and using it as a license to sin, but it has to be sincere.
