A repo says that you did not live up to your word. You did not pay for the car as you agreed to do. It says that you are not trustworthy! You can not be trusted to pay your bills!

Is having bad credit a smart move?
Is having to pay high interest rates on any new loan, if you can even get a loan, a smart move?

If you think that is a smart move, that also says something about you and your point of view of the world.

You decide!

No, it's a bad move. It will stay on your credit history for 7 years. It will make it more difficult and expensive to obtain credit in the future. If there is any way at all you can avoid a repo, by all means do it.

Do everything in your power to avoid a repo. It will destroy your credit for years to come.

It's not a good thing at all. It may keep you from getting a home (renting an apartment, buying a house), obtaining other credit, etc. Make sure the rest of your credit is okay or you'll be in a struggle to get more credit.

Its very bad for your credit, you will get sky high rates for anything else you apply for.Anytime your car is gonna be repo'd turn it in yourself as a voluntary repo,it looks better, and they have to mark it as that.

No it's not. It leaves a 'black mark' on your credit report. See the AUTO AND HOME LOANS section. Lots of good info at link below to help you with your credit. Good luck.
